well we all know the 360 was released a year before the ps3 and wii. what do you think are some of the pro's and con's of this? please list both (because there are both pro's and con's of this decision)

con: sony and ninty got to observe the xbox 360.

Early - More games, lead platform, more units sold and time to mess around.

Late - Fired, not many games, ports, less units sold and no time to mess around.

mature response:

    pros is fan base. companies make games to make money and if there are more 360 sold  then they will strongly consider that first.

    cons is that you wont be able to learn from other mistakes. And you wont be able to take your time and make a quality system.

    overal it dont think MS really took advantage of this, I looked up sales of both xbow and 360. xbox at first 14 months sold 8.64mill to consumers and 360 at 14months sold 9.56mill. This is not that good considering they were the only new console out for a full year.   

note ps2 was not out first it was actually out second, First was dreamcast then ps2 and then xbox (gamecube not sure)

    I would say:

    Pros: First to market to build a user base, got to hit second gen titles when the others were launching, and garnered more 3rd party support.

    Cons: Manufacturing defects, slow start to its life, and other two got to see its successes and mistakes and learn from them.Â
