My little brother who pretty much lives on Xbox Live, and it's essentially his life force, isn't going to be too please. :lol:

I actually wish this was Free. I'm enjoying the service.

I'm Gold till 2013 free thanks to a promotion awhile back but if they raise the price of Gold they should make just playing online free while adding more features to the Gold service.

I don't pay for Live anymore so this doesn't really matter to me but those 2 million 360 users were banned because of piracy/hacking also this could very well be optional so who knows.

I pay over $120 CDN a year (charged monthly) and i'm a perfectly happy user. They do this, i'll just switch over and buy 12 month cards :P

I can't believe people are still OK with paying for online multiplayer, and not even dedicated servers. I played some SFIV to kill about an hour or so in Championship mode on my PS3 today. Guess how much it cost me? $0. If more and more gamers are willing to pay for this crap as they raise the price for stupid stuff (a TV channel, seriously?) I can't blame Sony for eventually trying to cash in on this stupidity. Extra services may be worth paying for, but the basic multiplayer component should be separate and free. Probably my biggest complaint of the 360 (which I am considering buying once a slim hits) besides the dumb points system.sky_rend

When does this insanity end, are people just will to keep paying more an more? Already, people are defending this price hike, as if we should all just pay and not have any opinion on it.

Because of OP not having that link, people in this thread are claiming this rumor to be fake/made up. It's a real rumor guys, but hopefully it doesn't pan out.

That's a bad idea, because then the Xbox 720 (Xbox 3) comes out and it will be presumably $300-$500, and guess what, now Xbox Live will be $100 with your proposal (based on Xbox Live on Xbox was $50, and that price carried over to this generation.)

besides playing games online, cross chat and getting demos early what else do you enjoy in xbox live?

i used to have xbox live and other than playing games online and using cross game chat i did nothing else and eventually canceled it since i all i care about is online gameplay and xbox live does not help with actual online connection

on the topic issue i dont see MS increasing the price of xbox live
