Price hike? Probably. Will you have the option? Yes. Will you get more for your money if you choose to go with the better subscription? Yes. ....................so what? If anything nice job M$ for giving us more options, I for one will consider it

NO, I will always be paying $25 to $30 a year to play online on Xbox Live. MS is thinking about offering a bunch of special crap extra for a higher price, the standard gold account doesn't change. So there is a 100% chance that it won't be going up so we won't have to wait & see.

Everything has a 50/50 chance if you look at things as if they'll happen or not. For example, there is a 50/50 chance of you dying tomorrow. It will either happen or it won't. I don't think this will happen. If anything, MS has been showing incentive to make the XBL Gold price tag worth it. If anything, this will be a big pitch to get people to subscribe. Now, in the event that it does. I don't know about your principles or values, but 75 bucks in one year is almost pocket change. While I'm not thrilled at the aspect of Xbox TV (I have U-Verse) I won't be losing my subscription over it.

You never know with Microsoft, I would have expected that being able to JUST game online would be free from them, but no...they package dealt it. Sony is planning on releasing a premium service which gamers might have to pay for, got to wait for more information from them, though they are still going to keep what they have right now as free. :)

Get over it. Even though i mainly game on my Ps3 and dont see a difference in the services other than cross chat ( i actually have more lag on Live, maybe cause of dodgy net in Australia)
I still pay for Live for my 360. Its $7 a month, stop complaining

I have no problem with paying $50 a month. If I can see why I should =\ Microsoft should just offer the possibility to game online, without any other features offered, for free. PS3 can do it, Wii can do it, PC services can do it. Why not them? I don't know, and I don't really care. But wasting money for no reason is not my idea of fun, no matter how small it is. Well maybe like...$1 a month =P

I don't know why you would put the word "more" into your topic title. XBL isn't really losing players. =\ If this happens, then it's just going to end up escalating. First $50 for XBL (I think around $75 or $80 in AUS). Then this new TV channel thing for either $12 to $25 a year (maybe around $35 to $45 in AUS). Next thing you know, XBL users are paying for demos, standard wallpapers, beta invites, etc. Worse thing is, Sony and Nintendo are going to get these ideas as well, they are all businesses after all. Well, let's hope that this doesn't happen, the paying for it part. Another thing I find funny is that Xbox 360 fanboys dog at PS3 users/fanboys for having a web browser in the ps3 and other features that they deem "unneeded". Yet, they are getting a TV channel, which would be easier for them to switch to the standard telly than a PS3 user going to another room to use a PC, and they find it good or alright, or nifty maybe. Doesn't make sense. Also, why are they aiming at young males? I hope they go up to good dramas, cop shows that most people watch now a days as well. Maybe, maybe not.

Funny thing is, nowhere do they state it would be an optional service it sounds more like an addition to the current service that the price hike will be attributed too.

you really thing microsoft are really gonna charge more players money I would like to think 360 fans are smarter then that.. but then again they made it this far sooner or later they are gonna cross the line and fans will go into a rage..

first off, who cares?? if you dont want it, then dont get it. second, sony fanboys make me embarased to say i like sony. PSN is nowhere near as good as XBL. PSN is terrible. no one talks, argues, talks **** to others, nothing. its boring. its free and thats cool, but it still sucks. i forgot one cool thing though, i can watch my avatar run around in HOME and do the running man.....:roll:

Still haven't renewed my expired subscription b/c I can't justify the price to play online when I can do it on my PS3 and PC for free... poor suckers.

I'm going to be honest I love live, but I'm straight with paying over $70 for it. I mean $50 I can justify it somewhat, but 70? Come on man! :(

Thats a bad idea. I don't even watch TV, so why would I want a TV channel on my Xbox? The only reason I'm ever renewing my XBL gold suscription is to play GeoW3 and that is until next year.
