The pc is the most powerful gaming system with the most AA/AAA games with free online multi player and free content that's why. Also many of the 360 games are on pc or will be with better graphics and mods live users must pay for. I have been gaming on pc for over a decade but fanboys act like live is the best and it's not. For $50 live should own xfire but it does not live is p2p even psn has severs for free. Silver has almost all of gold features for free but just to game online ms charges $50 that is not even close to fair.

Then ms charges you for new content and even forced epic to chatge for the gears maps the wanted to release for free. Say what you want about xfire/psn but if you pay $50 for ggold you should get added content for free.

mismajor99

I wouldn't even bother. Some people are extremely fixated on corporations and their products, no matter what that corporations moral dilemma is. In la-mens terms it's called brain washing. With the advent of the 360, it's become much worse in recent years. It's ironic though, because more often than not you will see fanboys interject their opinion about consoles all the time within PC threads, especially the PC forum.

YeahI see alot of 360 fanboys taking shots at the pc and have no clue about what they are talking about but I will still defend the pc anyway. This latest post bashing xfire was pure comedy gold lol 4k pc but hates xfire and does not even know how to use the basic features of the program. Paying $60 for a game then paying $10 for maps and $50 for live what a bargin (sarcasm) when the same game on pc looks better, has free online and much better free maps/user content that keeps the game going alot longer.

At least the ps3 has games I won't see on pc and psn is free plus it runs linux (crappy version but it's a start) so the price is reasonable imo. I know fanboys won't breakout of their fantasy and see how badly ms is screwing them but hey it's not my money.

Whatever. You pc guys need to stop attacking XBL. I don't think anyone that's worth paying attention to said the XBL experience is better than the PC gaming online experience. It's obvious PC gaming, online or off, has its benefits over consoles. End of dicussion on that part.

The XBL experience is awesome. It makes everything you'd ever want and need at your finger tips, anytime you want it. There's no garbage, no BS. It's fun, and it most definitely enhances the online gaming experience, and no other console's online system comes close. Anyone that's spent a short amount of time with XBL should be able to say this.

But that won't change anyone's mind, especially those who are blind and set in their ways. The only thing that matters is that I greatly enjoy XBL, and the whole experience that comes with it. It is most definitely worth the $50 a year for me. That's it. End of story.

lol...you gotta laugh at Gamespot sometimes, it's loaded with the biggest fanboys on god's green earth...lol

Yep, and that's the bottom line, it's not your money. Long time PC Gamers realize this but Anytime Live is brought up in discussion, of course other online programs are gonna be compared, especailly in System Wars, and people just can't handle it. It's comical. MS knows that they can't get away with charging for P2P on PC, it just won't fly. If they offered P2P as part of their gold plan on 360, this discussion would probably never take place.

The last thing I'm gonna take seriously is an article from a mouthpiece speaking for MS, it's almost like we're surrounded by Major Nelson's, scary actually.

So comparing an online PC program that makes money from advertisements is a fair comparison? This comparison was about PSN and Live not Xfire.

I agree with every post you've made in this thread.

Here is my post from a little bit ago on this situation:

Another Shameful act of MS is how they've been really beefing up their ads in live, and that's for Gold paying members as well. That's just downright shameful. There shouldn't be one trace of ads when you are paying for a service.

I couldn't imagine paying for Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC on top of all their commercials. But, then again, it's only $4.95 ish a month anyway, might as well give it to them.

The majority of the people that attack it never in their life used it or just cannot afford it.

I don't know what ads the previous poster was referring to. Maybe the box on the Dash that you cannot click to go anywhere. It's mostly game related but it's nothing that can compare to the amount of money websites make with many users. The more xfire users the moremoney they can charge for ad space. Gamespot is actually free and I am sure you see many ads. When you go total acess you still see ads but none that pop up on the screen or in the background. These things never pay for themselves.

As a PC Gamer that owns and loves his 360 I see no problem with Xbox Live.

At first I balked at the idea of paying for a service while I played free for a decade on PC's, but after Using Xbox Live I can't say anything bad about it.

The idea of a unified service is great and it works extremely well too. When compared to Xfire, which many people are mentioning in here, it's far better. I can't see how anyone who has used both could possible say otherwise. The only thing Xfire has on Xbox Live is obviously price.

Would I like Xbox live to be free or albeit much cheaper? Yes. But to me it's not really a huge deal considering I bought a 13 month subscription for 30 bucks.

If Home delivers and is free or cheaper. MS be forced to lower the price but they will be exposed for milking their fanboys for their money.

Paying for p2p is bad but also ads wow that just blows my mind. You payyour internet provider and then pay for the game then pay for live then pay for additional content. Seems all your doing is paying on live gold. Sure sony's psn does not have the features of live "yet" but it's free and has servers. You would think live gold would offer servers so more people could play online and have no ads plus have free content for all games as a premium service. Really besides online multi player what does gold have over silver that makes it worth $50??

Now if it was say $25 or lowerI could see but $50 that's a new game or 2 used games. Live is a good service but compared to pc and the ps3 both free I can't see how you could say live is $50 better imo.
