[QUOTE="rhaigun"]Does PSN have movie or television downloads? I think not.KoreanX

if you think Sony the people who has a studio in Hollywood, China, Japan, and Europe can't add those things, then you in for a rude awakening.

That would suck if all you got was Sony movies. Enjoy FF: Spirits Within.

Only Sony movies... You do realize Sony has brought out some of the Best Movies out there...

Sony is implementing a youtube like feature. Can't get much better than that

Poor guys' probably confused Sony with Square Enix, u mean to say maybe "007: casino royale"?

[QUOTE="WOWZORS"][QUOTE="JeffGenocideX"]Ho,e is for teenagers that have no lives. XBL is for Adults after a nice day of hard work. Adults dont wanna goto in VR worls and show off thier music, they wanna jump online, check messages .. see who is on, invite them & PLAY... not have a Barbie house in a VR world with a bunch of Teenagers.JeffGenocideX

You do know that most palyers of second life and There and other games such as sims, are played by a majority of adults.

I am not talking about people that are MMORPD Freaks, I am talkign about hard working 60+ hours a week adults that wanna relax and enjoy a cold one while they play some Rainbow Six, Gears Of War, Ghost Recon 2...

Even if that was the case (which it won't be) Sony makes the best movies around. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon?

I support this cause i work 75+ hours a week... I come home & open a nice bottle of Capt Morgan and enjoy playing some Games while i sit in my bean bag chair. I Dont support Games that suck your life away.... & your life revolves around that game (EverQuest, WoW, Second Life...). I used to have a roomate and all she did was play WoW all day & night.... not healthy for a 400pound girl. I've seen what it does. So that is my personal Opinion.

Whatever! They've got a few good movies, but best movies around? I would've taken New Line, WB or Disney.

No, I'm just saying it would suck to be limited to that. Seeing as that's all you mentioned were Sony's studios. That doesn't even account for the TV shows XBL has.

XBOX Live is using the traditional way to communicate while PS3 is taking the MMORPG-style approach. Text vs Virtual, your choice.redneckdouglas

Or book vs Movie?

Vid is incredibley biased. Why don't they show how you easy you can play with your friends on live, private chat, Video chat, More Maketplace content. Show that you can choose gamercards on any leaderboard screen and compare achievements, send messages, friend requests. Live offers so much more than that simplistic video showed, they showed live as static images of an older version of xbox live, while they showed this earth shattering presentation of PSN Home. Can't get any more biased then this.Cubs360

Biased, lol...the video compared whatever one offered to the other...

I am sure it is no doubt that Home will become a extremely popular thing once it launches, there is just no doubt about it, i think anyone with foresights can see it. Publishers would support it by putting their own piece of 'playgrounds' up and such. They will use it as a commerce center as much as a entertainment center, they will incoporate other aspects of PSN on it, they will have movies and TVs available for download with a price tag on it. It's just a matter of time when this all happens, i am thinking by next year this time, Home should have regular content updates everyday (probably more than once a day) since developers have access to their own tools and they can create their own content on the fly as oppose to the weekly "thursday updates" we see now on PSN.

The only people who are argueing that this sucks is probably just 'extreme' fanboys, i don't see how a 'free service' would 'suck', especially it will enhance the system's online capability such as friend's list and instant jump & join in with your clan's members.

If you work 60 hrs a week (like me actually), there are still plenty to get excited about, those mini games on the arcades as well as a game of virtual pool or whatever is just perfect for us! And ok, even if you are not a MMO fanatics (i just quit my FF11 addiction due to work last year) it still doesn't affect you in anyways, because you can still play ur short game alone or just play it online without any ppl on ur friendlist (which we all prefer to do once in a while out of privacy or what not); you can still do it!

THis is all free, this is all voluntary just like FOlding@Home. Why are there so many people complaining about a 'free service'? The only reason i can think of is that they are afraid this may surpass their current console's online plan such as Live or Wii Channels or what not. But even if Home surpasses them, its not a bad thing, it will just push them to work harder so its a good mutal competition, trust me, you dont want anyone of the 3 to fail if you want quality games, monopoly is not hte way to go, a good proof of that is WIndows Vista (suck alot..released too early IMO, i am still using XP, i will wait until they work out all the issues.)

Sienfield, The Boondocks, The Shield, Sopranos, Jeopardy, Days of our lives, Young and the restless, and others are just the in-house TV shows they do. Sony Pictures also have joint production with MTV (which includes Comedy Central and Cartoon Network), NBC, HBO, and Fox. So yeah you in a losing battle her bud. Sony is an intricate part of the television game also.

I was showing you how deep Sony is in the TV world. It goes deeper with the music industry. Listen, I expect movies, games, music, and TV shows to be in home, not only by Sony studios, but by there partners like NBC, Paramount, Universal, Fox, and many many more. If you really think Xbox live will have a 1up on a company like Sony in the movie and TV business than you well be disappointed down the road...

Whats up with the Linkin Park music? Anyway, you can mark it down that Microsoft wont just let Home go unchecked. They`ll come up with something I`m sure. And if they dont...than that is very sad. For 50 bucks a year I get a good online service...for free you can get Home...Microsoft has some things they need to think over before their online crown is taken.jfkunrendered

The funny thing is that Sony, a company with definitly more direct ties to these movies and shows and music....didn't have the downloads at launch, and there doesn't seem to be any movement in that regard.

Yet somehow, MS, a company that had to build relationships that Sony had already built in.... MS was able to get the ball rolling quicker than Sony was.

That tells me that either Sony's online just isn't ready yet, or MS exercised alot more forethought in getting their act together.

So I think it evens out then.  What 360 doesn't have in physical media for movies, it more than makes up for in downloads and the upcoming IPTV.

Are you kidding me? There aren't even enough Blu-Ray players in households right now. Computers drive the Digital Distribution market, and Comedy Central has said the 360's download service has proven more lucrative than DVD sales. If that's true, how can BD possibly be better?

yea, i think home looks cool, but i'll have to check it myself before i buy in, so far i've been using live for almost a year and its awesome i don't think a 3d world could ever trump that, it's just so clean and organized, sony is def going to have to pull out all the stops

1 reason why I think Sony is not pushing it so hard. Blu-ray.

So I think it evens out then. What 360 doesn't have in physical media for movies, it more than makes up for in downloads and the upcoming IPTV.

Good luck. You going to need a lot of hard drives for your 360. Your resources is only limited to how big your HDD drives is. With Blu-ray it's not restrain to limited space. Think about it...

Even blu-ray's capacity is finite, but not as much as HDD space.  That's what the 120gb drive is for.

huh? You not understanding what I'm saying. 120gb can only well, 120gb. With blu-ray you buy the disc unlimited amount of times. Example: I downloaded 10 movies and 10 shows each were 10gigs. That's a total of 200 gigs. With blu-ray I buy 10 movies and 10 shows, but I'm not worry about the capacity of my hard drive for the movies are on blu-ray disc. So I can buy an unlimited amount of movies and shows while you limited to what your HDD can hold.

[QUOTE="jfkunrendered"]Whats up with the Linkin Park music? Anyway, you can mark it down that Microsoft wont just let Home go unchecked. They`ll come up with something I`m sure. And if they dont...than that is very sad. For 50 bucks a year I get a good online service...for free you can get Home...Microsoft has some things they need to think over before their online crown is taken.Fruity_Fantasy

I pay 50 bucks so XBL don't have something like Home

20 guys hitting on 1 girl which might actually be a Emo kid or one of them metrosexuals

walking around watching people do little dumb dances and typing little smartass remarks cause they are toughass geeks on the internet

Sony can take Home and shove it

hahah. lLemmings Am Cry? .. dude you sound like your crying. lol.

That, I understand.  But the functionality is a bit different.  XBL movies are for rent, and are automatically deleted.  TV shows simply take up less space and can be easily redownloaded if deleted.

did you say rent? lol, man that's not cool in my book. That's a loss for Xbox live on that one. Seriously. How much to rent the movies and shows?

I rather just have stuff happen instantaneously, than having to walk around and find it or whatever it may be.

So, instead of navigating an easy-to-use menu in order to play good games, I have to waste time creating a useless character and put him in an ad-filled world in order to play mediocre arcade games? I think I'll pass.

It's not cool to rent movies? I rent 6-7 movies a month on netflix for less than the price of one bluray movie that I'd probably watch once or twice.

TV shows are mine to keep once I dl 'em. HD for 240 pts, SD for 160. Movies are 480pts for HD, 320 for SD. With IPTV, it'll work like DVR.

How is that bad?  I can watch a movie in HD without having to be stuck with a physical disc if I don't plan on watching a movie more than once.

I see fears in their eyes, comrades. But that's ok, this does not concern people who will never ever get a ps3. But do not lose your hope my friend! The conversion of the so call "lemmings" will become our new comrades when their machine breaks down (often, i have heard) and they need to purchase a brand 'new' one...that's when the conversion will begin.

...sorry..tried to be funny.. -_-Â
