Xbox Live: Why am I being forced to pay, to play games online?

yall are a bunch of cheap **** lol i pay fot xbox live and im happy with what i am recieving...i play it more than my psn and that is free so xbox live must be doing something right

I really do not understand why I am being charged to play video games online. I understand Xbox Live has other features that we have to pay for but, I have no use for ESPN or facebook on Xbox 360. The only thing I want to do is play online, I couldn't care less about these extra feautures or Xbox live parties. Why can't online be free except foreverything else like Parties, ESPN and all the other useless garbage. I see no justification for raising the price either.

I've already invested a lot in the Xbox so I'm not gonna sell it, but I definately won't be getting their next console if they continue with this practice.

What is Microsoft's justification for charging me to play video games online?

Also this is on system wars because i'm pretty sure a post like this on Xbox forums would get me reported, and/or banned.

You can not compare the PC a open platform to the console's closed platform.... Furthermore the PC actually has MORE payments than either console through wildly popular MMO's.. That being said you can't compare the two.. Ps3 or 360.. Live pound for pound is better due to more features, better UI, etc etc.. Its whether you feel that those extra features are worth the money or not.. Which boils all down to a matter of opinion.. I am willing to bet next gen the PSN will be solely a pay service as well.. In trying to push Direct Download.

Nothing can be considered free in this business.. This is a business.. Microsoft seems have been quite exceptional in attracting a massive amount of gamers to pay for their service... Whether you believe it to be a rip off or not, is irrelevant.. A sizable population seem to think otherwise.. And finally people need to stop trying to compare the PC services to the consoles.. They are not the same.. Due to a open platform the only thing that has been successful in monthly fees, are MMORPG's.. A service that is far greater than the costs of XBL.

:lol: You mean like MMORPG's? Furthermore YET again you can not compare them.. Your comparing a open platform vs a closed platform.. Microsoft can afford to charge their service.. While most PC services can't inless they are MMO's.
