Sony could still take 2nd place, but the difference in consoles sold will be so close that it's really not going to matter. No matter what happens, Sony is going to be the big loser in this generation. Both Microsoft and Nintendo (especially the Big N) made huge gains in the industry in terms of market share. Sony will be the only company to drop market share (and drop it considerably) but really this is not a shock. Sony can't stay #1 forever just like Nintendo couldn't stay #1.
