And that's a terrible argument too. I wish the game was on PS3, personally, because I have a 2 year old who would love it (she just saw the pic as I was typing this and climbed in my lap saying "Elmo! Cookie Monster!"). Having a good game aimed at someone other than you is not a bad thing. Sesame Street CAN co-exist with Gears. Just like Eyepet can co-exist with God of War. You guys need to LEAVE COOKIE MONSTER ALONE!!![QUOTE="ianuilliam"]

funnily enough i was listening to Major Nelson podcast this very morning on my way to work. they had an interview with Tim Schafer and one of the devs who worked on brutal legend and Once upon a monster. As a kids game, this does actually sound really well done.
They were saying that they were checking the game out and one of the older folks asked "if in the mind of a three year old, who waves at elmo on screen and have elmo wave back etc is it like magic?" they then said that "no, to the three year old, infront of the screen, that could be completely logical"
Imagine being a little kid today, interacting in that sort of way with characters on the TV! when i was a kid, this sort of stuff was fantasy. I remember thinking it was great, when that "Pob" puppet, would come blow on the camera and appear to wipe it off the TV

Totally. I mean, I might make fun of Kinect, and laugh at the casualization... and make fun of games that are obviously cheaply made shovelware (note: wii and move have the same things as well, though its arguable that MS is focusing MORE on them atm than Sony is), BUT it blows my mind when people specifically choose THIS game as the poster child to make fun of it. Once Upon a Monster looks great. It's about time a talented studio put in the effort to make a quality game for kids. Most games for little kids are garbage. Using a BAD game for kids to make fun of kinect being nothing but crappy kid games would make a lot more sense than using what looks like a FANTASTIC game for kids. Also, when I'm staying home with my daughter, I watch a lot of kids shows on PBS and the like. Most of these shows nowadays try to involve the kids, asking questions and pausing for the kids to answer, stuff like that. So yeah, I agree, seems like a logical step from kids perspective to have the game wave back and interact with them.
