To reiterate:

This gen = Low-end/zero future-proof GPU used upon release.

Last Gen = High-end superb GPU used upon release.

Just pointing this out so you people stop arguing about graphics. No PS fan should ever vaunt their graphics if they are not the top of the food chain. Since their graphics are shite too; relative to PC. Both of the consoles are terrible; one is just less terrible than the other, but terrible nonetheless.

Love my PC, but I can't play Until Dawn on it. As long as consoles have exclusives -- and a metric shit ton of them just got announced for the PS4 -- they will have a place.

Meh. The usual spiel about PC's being SO much better, yet having like 1 exclusive a year (if that) that actually shows off any power difference. Total War and Star Citizen and maybe some showpiece UE4 games will show off a gap, everything else will look pretty much the same.

? No idea what you mean that you can't see a power difference. I can SURE AS HELL see a HUGE difference on MGS5 running at 4k - 30 FPS, and Witcher 3 on Ultra settings at 60 fps at 1080p vs anything on console.

Those are just two of the hundreds that look significantly better on PC.

Yeah but the PS4 and Xbone are not doing too well in that category either.

I didn't waste anything. My gaming computer is also my work computer which needs to have high-end components for a reason.

You also missed the part where, if equivalent to last gen, this gen's consoles would have had an equal GPU; and hence why this gen is shite.

So, what are those reasons for high-end component necessity?

A/V plan designs. Plus it works great for Adobe Premiere Pro video processing that I do for a hobby. As well as photoshop/Lightroom processing. It's gaming capability is the cherry on top.

Both terrible in comparison to something relevant to system wars.

For example this thread something super obvious that can't be debated. Something relevant can get people interested and get people to share their opinions on the subject at hand.

BTW every gen before followed a similar model to this and the gen before dragged on way too long to compensate, assuming this gen doesn't drag it is working basically the same. PC vs console graphics might still be a loosing war now, like always but they are at least still relevant, those last few years last gen were so bad I couldn't touch them.

Well I dunno about X1, but by golly PS4 has over 400+ games to play. Gosh darnit that's a lot!

Quantity/=/quality and most of the good shit is on PC as well. Exclusives are not everything but good lord the Xbone/PS4 exclusive libraries are bad.

5. Look at a small monitor instead of an HDTV? Really? I have my computer hooked up via display port to my TV. I can use my normal TV just fine. When I want the master race experience I'll use my 28'' 4K monitor however.

Now for why PC gaming is far superior:

Better graphics, better game customization, modding games, use any control input you want, use a KB&M which is MUCH better for FPS games, backwards compatibility for uh......ever, emulation of any games pre-last gen.

So basically I can do everything your console can do + a hundred things more.

Exclusives are a device to choose one platform over the other. However, that doesn't mean third party games shouldn't count. That's a very provincial idea.

If we're talking multiplats that consoles share with the PC, then one could make an argument for being able to play the optimum versions on PC. Anyway one slices it, the game selections of the consoles need to be better than they are.

There is a difference between PC gaming and console gaming. And it has nothing to do with graphics.

Only reason I would have gotten a PS4 is for MGS5 and MAYBE FF15 (depending on the reviews it gets; wasn't a fan AT ALL of FF13).

I got an Xbone simply for streaming media to my TV, and Halo. Else I wouldn't have got that either.

Consoles had all GOTY exclusives in the last 10+ years, not to mention ALL the illustrious fabled 10/10 exclusive that PC just seem to cant get on its own.
