In terms of multiplats, they're pretty damn good. As for exclusives, yeah... If you have a capable PC, they're really only worth it on their upcoming lineups. Though, they do have a few good exclusives between them.

I'm a massive Playstation gamer. And I love 10/10 exclusives that are only available on consoles.

All I remember of years upon years of PC gaming was constant trouble-shooting. Consoles are a lot less bothersome. I also can put upgrading out of mind until the next console arrives.

What do you have right now? No really excellent exclusives on either console (lol @ The Last of Us remastered, Gears of War remastered, Halo remastered) , and the most interesting games I can think up from the top of my head are Bloodborne, Metal Gear Solid V, Witcher III, GTA V, Alien Isolation and Shadow of Mordor.

And I remember how much whining was going on during 2008 for how little games the PS3 had.

And as bad as the GPUs are the CPUs are even worse. They decided to stick to $400 cuz that's what gamers are use to. But the dollar has lost 40% of its value since the last consoles launched. Ya can't do a $400 console anymore and it be worth a damn.

Nah it is definitively due to both. Exclusives blow and the specs on this gen of consoles will render them worthless (more than now) within 2-3 years. At least in comparison to PC. Especially with VR headsets right around the corner.

VR headsets will be FAR more potent on PC's than consoles given the frame-rates they will need to produce (90hz+ for Oculus).

• Best online: Better/Free Services, Best competitive scene, Best Coupons/Sales/Free, Mods, Biggest and longest lasting communities for 100's of games rather than everyone moving on to the next CoD. (Steam Stats)
• Best version of 99% of Multiplats according to Digital Foundry. Best gfx/performance..
• Most control devices and general features.
• Most Develoers (Every GDC/PAX poll)

Console

• Better split-screen.

I think this is largely because gamers demand huge games. All the time ya hear that if a campaign isn't like 100 hours long then the game is a rental. So it takes a long time to make games now.

Well quite frankly in 2-3 years they will be 5-6 years old already. I know Sony and MS said they want to keep them for 10 years, but I have a hard time seeing that. The 7th gen consoles were way more powerful relative to PCs than this gen, and they also lasted the longest (Xbox 360 and Wii did 8 years, PS3 7 years), but I have a hard time seeing the PS4 and Xbox One being even close to competitive to the PC in 3 years time from a pure hardware perspective. Remember that on average previous consoles lasted like 5-6 years, and by the end they were having a hard time playing contemporary PC games.

These consoles came out in what 2013? It's 2015 now, we know this, we all moved on.

Pretty much the point of a console,you pay once and much less than a PC. Expect visual upgrades along the gen while you need to upgrade your PC to keep it up.

No GPU is streaching it, but it certainly required a top grade GPU to match the Xbox 360. But still, a top of the line GPU like a X1950 or a GT7900 would let you play Oblivion maxed out at 1080p 60 fps no problem, while the Xbox 360 version was still only 30 fps, 720p and medium/highish in settings. Hell, I remember that you could play Doom 3 at 1600x1200 on a 7900 GT no problem. Though most of the problem with the Xbox was already then RAM.

I found some games to play this gen. And of course more games to follow.

4k is retarded. As far as consumer products go it's practical for only 2 things: VR and movies. It's completely unnecessary for games. Graphics are just sharp looking by their very nature. A 1080p game looks sharper than a 1080p film because of it. That's why films loaded with computer graphics, like Avatar, tend to be the most visually striking films. 1080p is very sharp for games. You don't need better than that. Passed that point you're just wasting assets that could be better used elsewhere. And don't even get me started on 4K phones.

The difference between 4K and 1080p is EASILY noticeable. 1080p looks like blurry shit when you go back to it after playing 4K. Just compare MGS5 4K vs 1080p on PS4. Night and day difference.
