I don't see much of a difference between the Xbox One and the PS4 anymore. Maybe more exciting games will come later. The launch lineup for both isn't really doing it for me. I don't have any friends picking up either so I really don't know what to pick up based off of where my friends are going. I feel like at this point if you picked up either one it isn't going to make a whole lot of difference.

Any thoughts on this? A part of me might just say I'll nab up a ONE if I can't secure myself a PS4. (All I care about is Forza and maybe just knowing that the internet will probably be better.) Of course the PS4 is great value wise. I'm moving into a new place soon, so saving money isn't a bad thing.

I just think it's funny how much people defend one or the other. I haven't seen a whole lot of proof that the two are that much different. I couldn't give two craps about the integrity of the company, PR staff or those that make it. Kudos to Sony for winning in those areas, though.

I'm getting them both. The PS4 is more power on paper, but so father the games on both look and play pretty similar. There's really no games out there that shows one has an advantage over the other. I know my friends are either getting a XBox One by itself or both systems together. I'm probably going to take the Nov 22nd and 23rd off of work so I can do nothing but play PS4 and XBox One.

Sony fanboys says the machine is made from Jesus, Xbox fanboys say its pretty much the same thing(which I think it is, Im going to own both consoles). It just depends on what fanboy you ask.

Im waiting for the ps4 slim model. By that time they will have a few bundles, cheaper games and the ps4 will be cheaper and with a more reliable console.

There's not much of a reason to own both systems since the large majority of the games they get will be multiplat titles. What's the point of owning two systems that have virtually the exact same library and both require a paid subscription to access online multiplayer?

I've owned a PS3 and 360 for most of last gen and I can say without hesitation that it was a large waste for the most part, and if I had to do it over again I'd just own one of them.

And to think...  All those 500-$1000 graphics cards using GDDR5..  They could be just as powerful if they had DDR3 and be massively cheaper to produce and sell a lot more.  What the hell are NVidia and ATI thinking?!  XBone has opened my eyes!

Then there is NO POINT in the xbone even existing. It is just a weaker more expensive PS4, but except it has a Kinect spy cam tacked on and has a secondary focus on games How anyone can opt for the xbone instead makes NO SENSE. Sony has the far better more prestigous exclusive library/exclusive developers. Sony's proven long term support of their consoles>>>Microsoft's history of shady short term support I mean when you objectively break it down. The xbone has NO ADVANTAGES OVER THE PS4 The PS4 is vastly superior in every respect, plus the MAIN FOCUS of it remains on gaming. You arent a real gamer if you chose xbone over PS4. If you are a real gamer, the PS4 is the only correct option- significantly cheaper, significantly more powerful, much better exclusive developers and exclusive library, history of much better long term support, much more consumer friendly (its media apps arent hidden behind pay wall fees like on XBL for one)...the fact Sony is willing to take much more risks on creative new IPs...the fact Sony has NEVER needed to do flip flop 180 because Sony has been with gamers FROM THE START...the fact the eye toy isnt being enforced like the Kinect is.... Etc etc etc...and I can keep going on and on... There is no question about it....PS4 ALL THE WAY I in fact will NEVER buy on xbone.

As a gamer, here is what i see right now, The xbone PROVIDES NO VALUE.. PS4 does everything better for less - 100$ cheaper 50% more powerful - better library of exclusives - better exclusive developers - no mandatory Kinect spy cam....I can keep going on and on.... PS4 is all i want or need ...I will never buy an xbone and I will NEVER SUPPORT Microsoft after the way they tried to take away our consumer rights Microsoft was lusting for the $ bills and tried to have their way with us BUT after they saw they were losing pre-order sales, they finally backed off... Whats to stop them from trying again? Microsoft can never be trusted -Sony never needed to do a 180 because Sony was with gamers from the start of the PS4:) -Sony has never tried to "Microsoft" away my consumer rights. I can trust Sony.... And I can especially trust Sony to deliver the gaming goods since Sony and their stellar first parties have been doing nothing but delivering the goods...to boot Sony has been perfect with the PS4 so far and they intend to keep it that way etc PS4 all the way! Thank you Sony:) On the other hand FUK Microsoft

The biggest developers claim that there isn't much difference in power. The main differences are the feature sets and price. The XB1 is $100 more expensive, but you get a lot for that extra $100. Smart TV functions, voice control, gesture control, video calling, TV channels, NFL extras, superior online, and Kinect 2.0 brings gamers one step closer to a holodeck experience. On the flip side, the PS4 is a straight gaming device that is also $100 cheaper.. If you want a system that is mainly just for playing games, go for the PS4. If you want a multimedia hub with a ton of cool features that also plays games, go for the XB1...

every time I remember about that it pisses me off so bad I feel like  becoming a retro gamer only or just quit gaming once and for all.

Now if only the Wii wasn't a piece of garbage or the PC get more interesting games that weren't console ports I don't give a fuk about and other garbage genres I never liked like F2P, MMO and sh*t. It's never sure when games like: Metal Gear, Guilty Gear XRD, FF and Kingdom Hearts would appear on PC let alone the Wii U. I mean, the only MGS game that has ever come out to the PC was MGS2 I think and that's it. PC gaming is trash.

Quite a big difference really. The PS4 is more like a last gen console (360/PS3) so if thats up your alley then great.

XOne feels more like a next gen console.

not me, i was really glad i owned both consoles this gen.

the 360 kept me going for the years the ps3 was a joke then the ps3 began to show some life for the last half of the gen.

not to mention each consoles individual strengths.

blu ray movies were awesome this gen and the 360 was where all my multiplayer action was at.

owning both could not have turned out any better for me.

i'm not going to early adopt this time around but i have no doubt i will own both a ps4 and an xbox at some point over the next few years.

Meanwhile Here are Xbone exclusives I want: ...........zzzzzzzz.......well.........zzzzzz NONE None of the xbone exclusives interest me. None of them lol. Just because the PS4 is so superior on a hardware, price, and features level, that doesnt mean they dont have the games either. All Sony has done is announce games lol. Xbots want to act like Sony doesnt have the games portion of it on lockdown either, when they clearly do. Fact is the PS4 is vastly superior on every front. How much more powerful?

AY: It depends what youre doing. GPU, like 40 per cent more powerful. DDR5 is basically 50 per cent more powerful than DDR3, but the memory write [performance] is bigger on Xbox One so it depends on what youre doing.

How is that going to translate to on-screen results for the kinds of games you want to make? So to optimise War Thunder on both consoles you could hypothetically make a better, prettier version on PS4?

AY: Yep.

KY: Probably yes. But again, thats not a very big deal.

Xbox One has more/ better exclusives

Quantum Break from Remedy (Max Payne and Alan Wake, quality expected)

Dead Rising 3

Fable Legends (Molyneux free Fable, could be good)

Forza Motorsport 5 (from the Turn 10 perfectionist)

Sunset Overdrive from Insomniac Games

RYSE Son of Rome from Crytek

Dark Dreams Don't Die (from the Deadly Premonition creator)

Crimson Dragon (Panzer Dragoon successor)

Killer Instinct

BoxingandGaming
Referring back to the list: Here are PS4 Exclusive I want: Warframe, WarThunder, Planetside 2, Infamous, Daylight, Killzone, Driveclub, Knack, DC Universe Online, Pinball Arcade... Some of the games on the PS4 list I haven't even had a chance to even check out yet too... there's so many... Meanwhile Here are Xbone exclusives that are worth even mentioning: Titanfall. It's definately not "obvious" that the Xbone has a stronger list. For me the PS4 list is waaay wayyyyy better.

Here are the Xbox One exclusives I want: Quantum Break, Dead Rising 3, Fable Legends, Sunset Overdrive, D4, and Below Meanwhile Here are the PS4 exclusives that are worth even mentioning Infamous See? I can do that too

No......they are not the same.PS4 is more poweful and cheaper.AtariKidX

Games all look the same to me. Specs and power are meanlingless if it doesn't show it in the games.

The price is really the only difference. Since I'm getting both system it doesn't effect me much.

Pray_to_me

You and all your friends must live in a flyover state, cuz nobody in NYC is getting the Xdud one.

I have friends and relatives in Boston and NY and they are all getting an Xbox One. So you're wrong there. Some are getting both systems.

Not one developer is quoted in that wall of text. Developer tweets all say the same thing. The systems are nearly identical...

[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]

There's not much of a reason to own both systems since the large majority of the games they get will be multiplat titles. What's the point of owning two systems that have virtually the exact same library and both require a paid subscription to access online multiplayer?

I've owned a PS3 and 360 for most of last gen and I can say without hesitation that it was a large waste for the most part, and if I had to do it over again I'd just own one of them.

blackace

Exclusives.

Xbox 360 = Exclusives and all multiplats.

PS3 = - All Exclusives.

Xbox One = Exclusives / Multiplats = ?

PS4 = Exclusives / Multiplats = ?

For me personally the 360 has been the weakest system ever created as far as exclusives are concerned. Tales of Vesperia, Gears and Halo are the only ones that standout as worth while to me, and certainly not worth the cost of the console when all is said and done.

I strongly prefer Sony and Nintendo exclusives over what Microsoft has to offer, and Xbox One exclusives just don't appeal to me outside of the Panzer Dragoon sequel.

I don't see much of a difference between the Xbox One and the PS4 anymore.

SpiderLuke
Other than the fact that a PS4 is superior in virtually every conceivable way, and Sony doesn't give up information to the NSA.

Sony fanboys says the machine is made from Jesus, Xbox fanboys say its pretty much the same thing(which I think it is, Im going to own both consoles). It just depends on what fanboy you ask.

Gatman32

Actually, the PS4 created Jesus.

http://www.videogamer.com/news/xbox_one_and_ps4_have_no_advantage_over_the_other_says_redlynx.html

Speaking to VideoGamer.com at E3, Ilvessuo said: " Obviously we have been developing this game for a while and you can see the comparisons. I would say if you know how to use the platform they are both very powerful. I don't see a benefit over the other with any of the consoles."

----

http://www.videogamer.com/xboxone/metal_gear_solid_5_the_phantom_pain/news/ps4_and_xbox_one_power_difference_is_minimal_says_kojima.html

"The difference is small, and I don't really need to worry about it," he said, suggesting versions for Xbox One and PS4 won't be dramatically different.

----

http://gamingbolt.com/ubisoft-explains-the-difference-between-ps4-and-xbox-one-versions-of-watch_dogs

"Of course, the Xbox One isnt to be counted out. We asked Guay how the Xbox One version of Watch_Dogs would be different compared to the PC and PS4 versions of the game, to which he replied that, The Xbox One is a powerful platform, as of now we do not foresee a major difference in on screen result between the PS4 and the Xbox One. Obviously since we are still working on pushing the game on these new consoles, we are still doing R&D."

----

link

"We're still very much in the R&D period, that's what I call it, because the hardware is still new," Guay answered. "It's obvious to us that its going to take a little while before we can get to the full power of those machines and harness everything. But, even now we realise that both of them have comparable power, and for us thats good, but everyday it changes almost. Were pushing it and were going to continue doing that until [Watch Dogs] ship date."

Carmack on next-gen console hardware: 'very close,' 'very good'

http://www.inquisitr.com/953465/xbox-one-vs-playstation-4-game-developers-say-its-a-draw/

"When talking about the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, John Carmack said they are both very close and very good. John Carmack is the id Software technical director responsible for Doom and Quake. Many other games use the game engines and graphics effects he had a hand in inventing. So when John Carmack says he feels the two gaming consoles bring essentially the same capabilities to developers, its probably wise to believe him."

http://www.edge-online.com/news/gaijin-games-on-why-war-thunder-isnt-coming-to-xbox-one/

Each have tons of exclusives that differentiates the consoles.

(NONE of these are also on PC)

Playstation 4:

Second Son, Killzone Shadowfall, the Order, Deep Down, DriveClub, Knack, Resogun, Everybody's Gone to Rapture, Rime, and Shadow of the Beast

Xbox One:

Dead Rising 3, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, Forza 5, Fable Legends, RYSE, Killer Instinct, Crimson Dragon, D4, Below, and Max Curse of the Brotherhood

We still need to see Naughty Dog, Media Molecule, and Bend's PS4 exclusives

and we still need to see 343's Halo, Black Tusk Studios, and MS Asia's Xbox One exclusives

More then 1/2 the PS4 games on that list are PSN Indie games. A large portion of them have been out on the PC for almost a year now. ;)
