XBox ONE and PS4 -- Pretty much the same thing

The thing is a lot of those PS4 exclusive indie titles are timed meaning they'll eventually come to PC and Xbox One or they're already out on PC.

what people do not realize is that 50% does not really mean much when it comes to gfx.

before you get any kind of real leap it needs to be 300% or 400%.

i expect the ps4 multiplats to have about the same gfx edge next gen as 360 multiplats have this gen.

I'm personally partial to Forza. Beyond that it's tough. Anything more I remotely want I think comes next year. It would be so much easier if I knew what my friends were getting. They were big on 360 now, but they are also cheap. lol. 

On the whole graphics theory, I would guess, as some theories floating around the interwebz are saying, that as far as multiplatform games are concerned that they will develop with the lower end console in mind. We might just get screwed because of that anyways.

It probably would be dumb to buy it just for Forza and maybe Titanfall later. I'm guessing somewhwere down the line I will have both anyways. As far as launch titles are concerned, nothing blows me away, but I would probably side more with Sony.

A lot of these launch games are going to have a hard time prying me away from GTA V and Diablo III, though. In terms of value, PS4 is probably the way to go. I think I'm paranoid I'll be alone on Sony and all my friends are going to get a One. I have one buddy who would probably give his left nut for a new Gears of War game. I love both my 360 and PS3, but I had a hard time getting into Gears. 

I do have an addiction to Halo. Maybe next holiday would make more sense and I could pick that up with it. Maybe it will be ... Kinectless? UnKinected? lol idk

We still need to see 343 Industrie's NEXT GEN HALO, Black Tusk Studios new Triple A game, and MS Asia's JRPG and Action titles. 

You're thinking PS4 exclusives are just going to blow away Xbox One in quantity, that won't be the case. 

There's not much of a reason to own both systems since the large majority of the games they get will be multiplat titles. What's the point of owning two systems that have virtually the exact same library and both require a paid subscription to access online multiplayer?

I've owned a PS3 and 360 for most of last gen and I can say without hesitation that it was a large waste for the most part, and if I had to do it over again I'd just own one of them.

Also there is no way Order 1886 is going to be ready by March 2014.  You forgot the Black Tusk new Game for the Xbox One. Also MS has announce new Japanese games that will be in development for the Xbox One.

Since when does 50 percent extra power mean the games have to be 50 percent better. So you're going to downplay PS4 unless the games look exactly 50 percent better. With diminishing returns, no way are you expecting that. PS4 has a clear advantage,  leave it at that. For you to downplay that advantage, yet tout 360 1% multiplat differences shows how biased you are Lem. I'm getting them both. The PS4 is more power on paper, but so father the games on both look and play pretty similar. There's really no games out there that shows one has an advantage over the other. I know my friends are either getting a XBox One by itself or both systems together. I'm probably going to take the Nov 22nd and 23rd off of work so I can do nothing but play PS4 and XBox One.

I'm leaning PS4 but plan to hold off for a while since the launch lineups aren't very interesting to me. I want to see what the online services are like for each and whether developers actually take advantage of the PS4's spec advantage. I could still go Xbox One if the online service manages to blow away PS4. but that seems unlikely this time around.

They're all the same in the sense that they're all video game consoles.

However, Price, Power and library play a huge factor if you play anything other than sports games and CoD. if CoD and Fifa are your life, then yes they're the same.

People need to face a few facts here. Microsoft has openly stated that they purposely chose to not go with a more powerful console this time around. Sony has an advantage in raw power simply because they can put more money into developing their system without being bugged down by a $150 camera. Xbox One is most likely going to suffer from the "Wii U virus" because they chose to package their console with an overly expensive accesory. In Microsoft's case, the Kinect and in Nintendo's case the Wii U gamepad. It also helps that the PS4 is significantly cheaper.

Cheaper? More powerful? (Arguably) better first party games? Sign me up.

That said? Sony didn't try to screw me without any lube out of the gate. Going to go their way for now and if Microsoft can keep their shit in check then I'll get an Xbox One after the first price drop. Some may call it being bitter, but I call it playing smart. I simply cannot openly support a company that tried to restrict me like Microsoft tried to do.

Quite a big difference really. The PS4 is more like a last gen console (360/PS3) so if thats up your alley then great.

XOne feels more like a next gen console.
