Xbox One: Can't Play Console Unless In Supported Country, No Hardware Imports

So that's that. Now not only can you not import software, you flat out can't import hardware or use the console unless you live in one of the countries Microsoft has deemed worthy.

Notable here is the omission of several major gaming countries, like Poland, Japan, and India. Well, about those...

Asian gamers will have to wait a year longer than their American counterparts to get their hands on Microsofts Xbox One, which will only be available in the region in late 2014, a year after its U.S. launch this November. The new device will only be available in select Asian markets Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and India

So it won't even launch in Japan, and you can't play this console unless you live in one of the countries listed in this OP. Wow, just wow.

Dumbest launch ever, easily. It's not the mistakes or the greediness; some of the stuff they are doing simply makes no sense at all. More countries = more sales, and more sales = more money. Absolutely any imbecile understands this. It's like they want this thing to fail.

This makes no sense whatsoever!

Games aside, this has to be one of the worst consoles ever conceived. Who the hell at MS thought they could just shove all this garbage in our face all at once, and no one would be bothered by it? Did they forget they don't have a monopoly on the console market?

And yea, I have at least a couple friends in unsupported countries I play with every now and then, so I guess we all know what console we're getting.

I think they want it to fail. They are telling their loyal customers that they can't buy their console even if they wanted to. I've never heard of such.

There is somethin big now on others forums, news came out that you wont be able to sell the Xbox One to someone else.

It will create a new higher class of gaming for a new gen of hardcore gamers. Not everyone will be able to enjoy this level of gaming, but not everyone gets to drive a Ferrari either. This will sort out the couch full of greasy monkeys playing Madden on a PS4 from the more sophisitcated gamer. FoxbatAlpha
