Well............. does it affect anyone here? I mean really before everyone thinks this is 'the death of xbox' just pause and think about the concept of target audiences. A commercial decision to omit the likes of Chad isn't going to be the downfall of MS. I mean the launch of the original xbox was ethernet only - omitting a fair amount of the countries mentioned anyway.Â

Its not that this news is too crazy (though it is a bit odd). Â Its that the negativity just keeps on trickling in. Â They started out terrible in a big way and now they're just slowly digging deeper by the minute. Â Almost every bit of news has been bad news.
Also, the original Xbox didnt require a connection every 24 hrs just to be used.  Your location didnt matter, you could still hook it up and play games.. unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying.
It is a confused muddle I agree, although as monyleux said it's mainly because there's been no benefits to the consumers outlined as yet, and as yet I can't see any. You're right negativity seems to breed negativity - a situation where people are actively looking angles as to why we should hate the XB1. RE ethernet though, I meant those with dial up weren't able to access full functionailty of console as intended (albeit it is different of course, however it was still a little perhaps risky a strategy).
