There doesn't appear to be the will to do it and there ain't enough time left even if the will was there (It could very well be in full-scale production by now for all I know). I'd love for the stuff that misterxmedia claims to be true, or even just partially true: After all, I've heard that APUs coupled with dGPUs running in parallel is something to expect in electronic products in the future anyway. He wouldn't give a firm number on the CPU speed, just that it was faster than 1.6 and slower than 2.2.

Well, that would be awesome (Even 2-2.5 tflops would be) and would make for a few very fun weeks on this board but not for a moment do I believe it'll happen.

Better controller? The fact that they have the dpad above the sticks like they think it's still 1995 proves it's crap in and of itself.

I have also heard this. MS has not disclosed everything inside yet and what it's doing. There is more to be revealed including the possibility of a second GPU they have been hiding. Also a a move engine and a 8GB flash memory that just came out of nowhere.FoxbatAlpha

That is the problem when you are to high in altitud oxigen is more dificult to get,so you get dizzy or you can even get a mild delirium if your friend is to high on the Rockies,that probably explain the 4TF remark.

WTF this is one of the most stupid comments ever,ever since 2001 MS claimed superiority of control because thy copy the damn dreamcast only analogue and mix it with a second one from the DS even that the controll was horrible and as big as the dreamcast it self,and those god awful blakc and white buttons,and on 1995 there was no DS dude,the first controller for the PS did not even had analogues at all.

If there wasn't for the DS there would not be any xbox controller at all.

I don't think it will get a GPU upgrade (The 53 mhz upclock is all it's getting) but if it did, especially if it became more powerful than PS4, I think we'd have to put tormentos on suicide watch.

So, overclocking those Jaguars is not out of the question. And AMD chips are usually great overclockers.

Processing power dosn't come for free... if you increase it to 2.5TF then it would need more power and would need a complete redesign to be able to take that a greater amount of heat away, which would make the console bigger and more heavy and sound like a hair drier, and then it would cost a lot more and nobody would buy it.

At a certain point you start getting diminishing returns, the victor will be the company that has found the optimal point.

If the rumors I hear are true, when a game only calls for 2 or 3 cores to be used at a certain point, techincally, the units could shut down all the other cores and overclock the 2 or 3 cores currently in use. But I don't know if the Jaguar can do that on the fly or not.

I guess it depends on how much a single CPU core could be overclocked if you are at a single-threaded point in the game. Capping a single core to 1.6ghz seems pointless if you're running a single-threaded game or at a point in a game that's only making calls to 1 thread; the 7 other cores will just sit there doing nothing. Why not allow a single core to up-clock itself on the fly for added efficiency?.

If you're running 7 or 8 cores at 1.6hghz each, then couldn't you conceivable run just 2 or 3 cores up and maybe over 2ghz for some "flex" processing when those other cores are Idle?

Just speculating...

How are they gonna stick another GPU core on the APU if it's already hitting the limit of being procducable?

And if you think they are going to stick another GPU in on a sepeate bus then what are they going to use the ~HD7750 for? You can't really mix and match GPUs like that unless it's another HD7750 crossfired but it would still be slower... because of the ram speed issues.

I will admit that the wording confuses me. Not sure what that symbol before 1.9 ghz means. Not sure if he's saying it is 1.9 ghz, or less than 1.9 ghz, hence the ? in the title.

I don't think it will get a GPU upgrade (The 53 mhz upclock is all it's getting) but if it did, especially if it became more powerful than PS4, I think we'd have to put tormentos on suicide watch.

The XBox One doesn't need a GPU upgrade. The extra GPU has been there all along. It wasn't just added.

It doesn't mean equivalent. A tilde in front of a number usually means approximately.

~1.9 = approximately 1.9. Could be a little higher, could be a little lower, but close to the number listed.

I'm no expert, but isn't it central to the design of these new consoles that there has to be stuff running in the background?  It's a media machine, moreso than a games machine.

If there's an extra one in there already how come none of the devs that have been working with it all this time know about it?

I have also heard this. MS has not disclosed everything inside yet and what it's doing. There is more to be revealed including the possibility of a second GPU they have been hiding. Also a a move engine and a 8GB flash memory that just came out of nowhere.FoxbatAlpha
