There is NO saving the xbone

The xbox brand was only ever "popular" in America

Yet the PS4 is SIGNIFICANTLY out selling the xbone in America right now.

The PS4 also has a strong presence globally while Microsoft has NO relevance out side America

The xbone is a massive failure globally and its getting out sold in the only country it ever had a presence in, so there is no chance in reality that the xbone ever catches up to the PS4

Theres the fact that the PS4 is just much better then the xbone in ever possible way. The PS4 does everything better for less. And todays eduacted consumer knows that. Microsoft's sleezy marketing or tactics will never work also

the only reason people say the x1 needs saving is because its not selling as well as the ps4. to be honest the x1 doesn't need saving, its not dead in sales and its only been 6 months? if the ps4 was not here or if was it trailing behind the x1 this discussion would not even exists. the pay wall has been there since day one yet lems weren't crying about it last gen. when kinetic first came out, lems were praising it like it was the holy grail of the 360. it wasn't until this gen that everyone flip flopped on the kinect and started blaming it for the x1 lack of sales. M$ and its fans of gotten cocky and arrogant, the smart ones have jumped ship because m$ changed focus and went after wii fans. Funny thing is Sony was criticized left and right for being arrogant, the ps3/sony hate was everywhere and was really unnecessary after the first year . then M$ decided to follow in the same footsteps knowing the outcome. its not the x1 that needs saving, its M$.

Frankly I am shocked the xflop has shipped so many units. The xflop cost 100 bucks more has less power as high as 50 percent based on multiplats rez and fps. No games for gold on the xflop and everything is behind a 60 buck paywall with a mandatory spycam. It's also hard to forget the e3 where MS tried to rape retail and gamers before Sony put them on blast.

Their Games with Gold mention is not even complete.

Xbone doesn't have any Games with Gold program. So, it's even worse than the article mentions. A lot of gamers without Xbone seem to think Games with Gold is on both 360 and Xbone, but this is not the case.

I'm assuming as I said last year that M$ will announce something at E3 2014, but in the meantime early adopters these last six months got no games with gold support on Xbone. PS4 early adopters (came out same month) did get games for six months and that's no good in a comparison between both early adopters.

Someone buying an Xbone today? They have access to the same stuff we had a launch. Someone buying a PS4 today, they missed out on six months of PS+ goodies. The early adopters weren't rewarded.

Especially considering my Xbone was $500, not $400 like the PS4, and Xbox Live Gold costs $60 a year, not $50 a year like PS+. Yes, you can get deals on everything above, but that doesn't change anything I said.

I got an Xbone, but I'm waiting for this holiday or however long it takes to release another exclusive.

Xbox one might get saved by the PS4 and its dismal exclusives so far. Xbox one games have been releasing on schedule without issue. PS4 exclusives have been having some hard times with people coming and going, could this impact more exclusive release dates. Why is Evolution Studios struggling with DriveClub? Sony isn't putting the final nail in the coffin and letting Microsoft stay alive. If Sony has a lot of exclusives slated for late 2014/early 15, it leaves the field open for microsoft if they can launch some exclusives earlier. Sony has to come out swinging, I'm concerned because every day we're hearing about more PS3 games getting HD remakes for the PS4. Is this because Sony needs some fillers to fill the gap before the exclusives can get rolling out?

Lets wait until it releases in the other 49 territories, before we send the Xbox One to the emergency room ok.

Who's your source for this post? As an owner of both machines, I can tell you they both lack games, but one is consistently releasing games more than the other.

In your defense, I suppose if I was on the sidelines and I took a very limited interest as you seem to have done, I could also be misinformed...but that didn't happen, alas.

I posted a picture for you. It's actually missing some PS4 games, but it gets the job done.

No it's not but the ps4 is what 3 million ahead already and shuld be more but they can't meet the demand yet. Still the xflop is doing great IMO based on how much it cost and the secs plus the e3 fallout. You also the resolutiongate where the xflop is getting owned by the cheaper ps4.

The Xbone list gets even smaller when you take away inferior multiplats that nobody is buying it to play. Games like Ground Zeroes and Watch Dogs may as well be counted as PS4 exclusives. All that leaves it with is Kinect Sports and Plants vs Zombies LOL

Microsoft always money hats a bunch of third party exclusives at the begining of a generation.

It means nothing.

As we saw with the xbox and the xbox 360, the xbox platforms quickly died off in exclusives there after, mean while Sony with the playstation platforms kept bringing the heat in exclusives on a consistent basis to the very last day

You know the PS4 will have the better exclusives.

Sony first parties not only DESTROY Microsoft's pathetic first parties, Sony first parties are some of the most highly regarded and respected developers in the industry PERIOD so its a given the PS4 will get better exclusives

Infamous Second Son is the BEST game of next generation, so its already started.

Microsoft will likely go back to spamming yearly lackluster iterations of Gears/Halo/Forza on the xbone, just like they did on the 360 (Microsoft also cut off all support for the xbox early)

Just to give you some examples of many, of how despicable Microsoft is

Microsoft locked all basic features behind xbox live pay wall fees, mandated a kinect spy cam, charged more for weaker hardware etc. Proven time and time again how anti-consumer Microsoft is.

Then theres the very fact that Microsoft tried to commit the worst crime possible against consumer rights with xbone always online and drm etc

You can NEVER trust Microsoft. Microsoft is pure corporate scum and will do what ever it takes to extort money. stay on your toes.

If you are still one of the last remaining xbox fanboys who hasnt yet made the switch to the PS4 like everyone else already has, wake up and learn your lesson with Microsoft.

Microsoft has a new PR marketing campaign to paint themselfes as for the gamer. Its laughable. Like if we all just forgot all the despicable shit Microsoft has done and dont know what Microsoft is truly about.

@SolidTy: both of those lists are pretty weak. xbox one included, a lot of those PS4 games are indie games and nothing with a lot of meat. Still leaves the door open for xbone to jump in. Also, I have dead nation on the PS3, this leads the PS4 remaking past games. I would like to see more solid exclusives from the PS4 like Infamous instead of all the indie ones. That list still keeps the xbox one in there software wise, understood the PS4 has the hardware but would like to see them with more AAA than indie(and yes xbone is lacking since launch). All I'm saying is Sony is leaving the door open if microsoft can get in some AAA exclusives (but still might be a little bit behind Sony since multiplats like Destiny and etc are coming which might help Sony sustain a void).

As an owner of both machines, I can verify as I said before both lists are weak. It was also expected with any launch machine. I've done launches for decades, it's always rough for me.

I just wanted to correct that notion you said "Xbox one games have been releasing on schedule". The idea that Xbone is rolling out games while the PS4 is not wasn't correct, if I read that right. They both are not rolling out games sure, but if one was to compare, the PS4 is putting out more games faster. I also own a Wii U, but these days I'm not playing any of them and I'm finishing up last gen PC, PS360Wii titles. I can tell you one company has a long history of support and 1st party games (PS1, PS2, PS3) and one does not (Xbox, Xbox 360). Will history once again repeat itself with these home consoles? It all depends on who's making games now, and we got E3 coming very soon.

I agree with you the door is open for both companies to wow gamers with upcoming games this year, that is for sure.

Nothing can save the Xbone. It is doomed to a distant 2nd place all throughout this gen.

The only reason the 360 was able to compete last gen is because Sony fucked up and launched the PS3 at $200 more a year after the 360 launched with dodgy looking multiplats due to the cell architecture. It took the PS3 years to catch up with the 360, and even then the 360 was only able to dominate in US and UK and was easily trounced worldwide by the PS3 in sales.

This gen the PS4 is not only $100 cheaper it is also more powerful and is dominating the Xbone in every market. The gap isn't narrowing it's getting larger everyday. March was supposed to be Xbone's time to shine and it still got owned by PS4. If Titanfall bundles and several unofficial pricedrops couldn't save the Xbone nothing will. The next couple of months are going to be even more difficult for M$. Watch Dogs is releasing and we all know the PS4 version will be superior and sell like a lot more than the Xbone version and after that there's Destiny which might as well be a PS4 exclusive at this point. The fact Sony has deals with all the major 3rd party publishers to advertise these multiplats almost like they are PS4 exclusives, and the fact that PS4 multiplats all run better than their Xbone counterparts on PS4's cheaper and more powerful hardware is going to be a thorn on M$'s side these coming months.

Ms is part of the NSA PRISM program and your going to buy a xflop with a spy cam for 500 bucks wake up.

I don't think the XBone needs saving. They should however, offer a Kinect-less SKU as an option for people like myself who would probably by an XBone if it was cheaper. They really are hurting their sales by forcing everyone to buy a XBone with a Kinect for a price that is $100 more expensive than it's closest competition.

Once it become clear that there is no saving the Xbone the sales will get even worse. The snowball effect will be in full force this summer. Anyone on the fence will see how utterly pathetic the sales are and they will flock to the stronger cheaper PS4. Xbone has been in stock all over for a long time and anyone who wants one has got one by now. Next few NPDs are going to be HUGE ass whoopings.

Despite that it got outsold in the end, period. Downplay all you want, no one cares. Everyone knows PS3 was selling faster than 360, how do you think it caught up in the end? Duh.

It is relevant because the PS3 was a significantly stronger brand at the time and was supposed to catch the Xbox quickly in sales then enjoy a generous lead for the remainder of the generation; so everyone thought. Sony also lost a significant chunk of market share to MS last gen.

@SolidGame_basic: Problem with that is Microsoft's approach might leave a bitter taste in the mouth for hardcore gamers but the casuals are largely uncaring in these matters.

Sure the price needs to drop but where I am, the PS4 with a camera is the same price as an Xbox One. It is all about perceived value. Casuals are the majority of the gaming market. There are just over 100 million gamers that play consoles. Most of them are casuals.

Most of the people who buy these consoles will love the Kinect and the TV and the games and no one can say Sony has been running away with it in the games department either can they?

And another thing, casuals haven't started buying the consoles yet. Most of the sales so far have been hardcore gamers. The same people who take the issues with Microsoft personally. That is why Sony are ahead at the moment.

Give it a year, maybe two and the gap between the consoles is going to shrink. It may even close all together. As soon as the casuals start buying the consoles Microsoft will have the advantage because their console is more casual friendly. Which means it is targeting more of the gaming population. Which counts double now Nintendo is struggling.

Microsoft will never get rid of the Kinect. It cost them too much.

It's only the beginning of the generation, it's selling well, not as well as the Ps4 but still selling well, it sold better at launch in the UK than the 360 did.

It may not be doing as well as the Ps4 but it certainly doesn't need saving.
