The Xbox division is in a state of disaray.
CEO of the Xbox division Don Matrick was recently asked to step down and left the company. Now the CEO of Microsoft Steve Balmer has announced he's stepping down and will leave the company within the next year.
Along with all the confusion and back peddling MS has done, it's obvious that the Xbox One was a poorly planned project. It is $100 more expensive than their competitors while being much weaker. Their entire reveal was based around TV TV TV and now theyve dropped that angle almost entirely. Obviously they dont know what direction they want to go in. Kinect mandatory? Always Online? TV? No used games? LOL!
Is it really unreasonable to think that in 3-4 years they will abandon the Xbox One entirely and put out a new system? (like they did with the original Xbox). There are even rumors that MS could get rid of their entertainment division entirely. I'm sure the higher ups at MS are not fond of all the bad PR X1 has given the company.
PS4 on the other hand was perfectly planned from the start. They have never wavered or changed policies. Sony's management is clear and concise in their direction. And like all PlayStation consoles, PS4 will have a very long lifecycle. (Sony is still supporting PS3 with good exclusives coming out for it). It also has much better specs. PS4 is clearly a much better investment.
PS4 sales will be way better than Xbox One's as evident by the pre-order numbers that show PS4 is smashing Xbox. It's also less expensive and has Japan/Europe on lockdown, and even has higher pre-orders in Xbox's home turf of America.

i'm gonna lol hard. one guy left to have a higher position and more pay at another company, the other one retired.
MS dind't back-pedal. they made changes to please copnsumers to boost sales. tahts pretty common all the time
MS has enough money and the Xbox divison turns profit. they've invested billions in it and it turns a profit, why would they abondon that.
meanwhile sony has lost 8 billion dollars on thair hardware side, they visioin isn't always clear. they were gonna include the eye and charge the same as the X1. they abondonded it to come in cheaper. they also pretty much abondoed the vita and the eye camera as well. SOny also scrwed up the design of the PS3 and admittied it a mere 2 years into the lifecycle. the 360 outsold the PS3 by alot to start. but PS3 evened out eventually over time. MS sin't even producing enough Xbox's to fill all the pre-orders so the sales are fine.
your whole post reeks of stupidity
Okay. Gonna stop you there. In no way did Microsoft reverse the restrictions to please their consumers. Yeah, they saw that the console was about to fail hard and only after seeing this did they decide to backpedal. If you think for a second that Microsoft did this for "you" then you're delusional.
I'm not a Microsoft hater, I'm actually planning on getting an Xbox One at some point in the distant future. However, I have a mentality that I wish to the gaming gods that the people of System Wars would understand; If Microsoft had listened to it's consumers it wouldn't have ever even attempted to implement those restrictions in the first place. Microsoft in no way made any effort to listen to the cries of, not only Xbox fans, but all gamers across every single platform.
To say the "listened" or they "did this for you" is completely and totally ludicrous.
