If I had any combination of an old school flip-phone, a PDA, a MP3 player, and etc, I could make the argument that I don't need a smartphone.. Heck, that was the exact argument that people tried to make when smartphones were introduced.. And anyone with a smartphone will tell you that it is a much better solution than trying to combine that set of separate devices..
Simply saying "I can use my tablet and/or a 2nd TV alongside my gaming console" doesn't change or discredit the fact that the Xbox One can do all of that by itself.. As a matter of fact, it just proves the point that the XB1 is doing some pretty impressive stuff in terms of a multitasking and multimedia in a gaming console.. Like a smartphone vs a flip-phone/PDA/MP3player, it was designed to bring all that functionality together in one neat and unified package..
again if that's your preference, then by all means, enjoy.. But i'm sorry, using that as a counter-argument to an all-in-one device is pretty weak and kind of short-sighted..
