Well the Vive has been popping up in Microsoft stores for some reason. It would be smart of Microsoft to just include functionality with someone else's headset. That way they don't have to spend a ton on R&D or worry about taking a loss on hardware.

Hasn't there been some speculations about Oculus as they have teamed up with MS?

They have a partnership, what will come of that no one really knows.

Not sure why you'd want VR on anything other than a pc right now.

@howmakewood: Well there is obviously some sort of partnership there since the Xbox One controller and wireless dongle comes with every Oculus Rift with little to no effect on the cost. Now folks have been seeing HTC Vive headsets up for demo at Microsoft stores.

And they are bringing Minecraft to Oculus Rift, Oculus Rift games can be streamed to xbox one via win10. What ever interaction it may have with xbox consoles remains to be seen

Same. From previews I've been reading, the Occulus and Vive are largely noticeably better than anything PSVR can do. To be expected considering the cost, but people interested in VR should do themselves the favor of seeking out the best experience possible, and that's on the PC.

I'd hold out to see if they announce their plans for VR at E3 this year. If they don't mention it by E3, then you will probably want to get the PS4.

There are no announcements regarding Xbox One and VR and there probably won't be. The Xbox is dead. Better to jump ship now rather than later.

Given Microsoft's partnership with Oculus, I expect that the Oculus Rift will eventually be compatible with Xbox, but I don't think it will be on the Xbox One (and it shouldn't be since none of the current gen consoles are powerful enough for VR). I think the Oculus Rift will be compatible with Microsoft's next gen console.

All signs point to the Playstation VR being crap since Sony is going cheap on the headset and all of the current gen consoles are too weak to deliver a good VR experience. If you want a good VR experience, you either need to look to the PC right now or wait a few years for the next gen consoles which should then hopefully be powerful enough to deliever a good VR experience.

As already posted, they have some sort of partnership with Oculus. How much more they want to dive in that partnership is another question. But right now Microsoft is directly working on AR, Hololens, which I think is much more advance and give a real new experience. Problem is that it's so good, it cost like $3000 dollars and are only available for development. Who knows when or if that will come down to consumer friendly prices and be available for consumers.
