Well, my old 6850 video card actually ran games in a higher res than 1080p because I have a 24" monitor. However, they didn't look as good as PS4. Yeah this is not any kind of accomplishment. This game was never known for it's graphics.

Game looks like ass to begin with not sure what's so impressive here.... Then again anything running 1080P / 60 FPS on a Xbone is jaw dropping I guess.

If (and that is definately an "if")

I wonder how @tormentos is going to spin the fact that new SDKs brought the XB1 up to 1080p/60FPS...

They don't need a new SDK for that, all they need to do is reduce quality and this game is say to look like crap..hahahahaa

In fact several multiplatform games are 1080p same frame rate on both units,it just depend on what you do.

Sure. MS releases SDK updates, all of a sudden multiplats go from 720p to 900p to 1080p.

Well, time will tell who is right. I say that since they are using the new SDK, more often than not, the XB1 version will match the PS4's resolution and frame rate (or the gap will be significantly less).

According to Bethesda "they will deliver the same experience", 'parity', in their words. I call BS.

If both versions look the same it's because of laziness. Doesn't matter if 1080p becomes the XO standard, it will always fail in other areas just because it has a weaker GPU.

My bet is the PS4 version will be 1080p and 2x/4x MSAA and probably "High settings". While the Xflop will be 1080p using some post process crap AA and perhaps downgraded shadows and effects.

Really? Two devs in 48 have said that their games coming out later this year will be 1080P on XB1. The "catch up" has already started.

Yeah, no.

When your games are running on engines created in 2003 and 2004 respectably, if it couldn't hit 1080p that'd be disgraceful.

There is only one single next generational only game running at 1080p/60fps, Forza 5.

When we're able to see generational games come out that are 1080p on the Xbox One then you'll have a point, but for now you don't.

I wouldn't be surprised if it has dynamic resolution like Rage did.

"Following our report about the PlayStation 4 version of Wolfenstein: The New Order running in 1080p resolution and 60 fps, Bethesda has confirmed to GamingBolt that the Xbox One version will also run at the same resolution/frame rate.

“The Xbox One version of Wolfenstein will run at 1080p/60 fps,” the Bethesda PR said in an email statement to GamingBolt. This should come as some relief for many Xbox One owners who have been treated to multiplatform games which generally have lower resolution and frame rate compared to their PlayStation 4 counterparts."

Wolfenstein: The New Order uses ID Tech 5 3D engine i.e. a known tiled texture based 3D engine.

Tiled Resource doesn't solve CU bound issues and memory related optimisations/workloads would be similar to prototype 7850 with 12 CU at 860Mhz with 153GB/s memory bandwidth.

Tiled Resource helps the GPU's TMUs to play well with the machine's fastest memory pool.

ALU bound issues can be mitigated with cheaper shader programs.

Who gives a shit! This is the sort of headlines that dominate the media and forums everywhere these days.... Nobody seems to be talking about the actual GAMEPLAY.... Just resolution and graphics.

You are destroying the industry you bunch of whores!

If it means that much... Get a PC... Stop poisoning the industry with this shit!!!
