The founder of Voodoo PC, Rahul Sood, says that Microsoft once floated the idea of implementing cross-platform play between the PC and Xbox 360 for a range of titles. Thing is, testing didn't go so well.

The proposal, part of Microsoft's LIVE push, popped up "many many months ago", and would have allowed people playing games available on both PC and 360 - like Gears of War - to take each other on. Kind of like 2007 shooter Shadowrun, only people would actually play it.

Problems quickly arose in testing, however, when Microsoft found that even the best console gamers simply couldn't compete with the accuracy a mouse and keyboard afforded a PC player. "The console players got destroyed every time", Sood says. "So much so that it would be embarrassing to the XBOX team in general had Microsoft launched this initiative."

This isnt even a big deal really, cause after the 1st week controller useers will play in lobby's bound to using a controller only assuming this option exist I havnt been following this game. So yeah nothing to see here.

TBH, the X360 is better off not supporting cross platform play for this game in particular as CS always been riddled with cheaters on the PC side.

If only the X360 supports keyb+M, it would be no doubt the better option of all the platforms.

It's not the Xbox 360, it's just Microsoft.

If the PS3 is going to have the option to opt out from cross platform play, then it'll be by far the best version of all the platforms, as you'll get proper Keyb +M support without having to put up with cheaters from other platforms.

Who cares TC? It just sounds like you want to take it up the rear by PC gamers. I'm going to get both the PC and 360 versions so I can teabag cows and actual PS3 gamers who don't give a f*** about cross-platform play. The reason I'm getting the 360 version is to point a finger at cows, Sony, and Valve and its not the index, ring, pinky. Its the one you put up when you don't give a f***.

it supports the most basic mice and keyboard drivers so all those fancy high resolution high accuracy mice? yep their high accuracy and resolution doesn't work and I do believe the majority of mice with multiple buttons those buttons dont work only the left and right click. you may as well play with a 30 year old apple 2 keyboard and a mouse that uses a ball when you play on the ps3 because your going to get stomped by PC players.

Yes, I'm fully aware of the fact that the PS3 supports KB/M

I'm also fully aware that Sony's generic KB/M drivers aren't going to be anywhere near as good as those PC players will be using. Don't be so naive.

Seriously, i dont get why there isnt cross platform play for all multiplats. At least between consoles.

We are never goign to see proper cross platform shooters between consoles/PC because the controls are too different. Could be done in most other genres though.
