Just all stop resisting, and spending money on too expensive games; get a PC. It's technologically superior, it has the biggest game library, it has free online outside your ISP subscription. It's a better multimedia centre than -any- console. Seriously. Instead of getting and a pc for working/surfing/media purposes, and a console for gaming purposes. Just get a more expensive pc, and do it again after a console generation has ended.
"Bu.. but I wanna hang on my couch with a controller"
nonsense, just hook it up to your tv and get a controller from a store.
"Bu.. but I hate the hassle of installing games"
nonsense, installing a game doesn't take that long, and you get great loading times in return.
"Bu.. but I have to upgrade ever 6 months"
nonsense, if you get a DX10 machine now, you'll have better graphics than any of the consoles for the rest of this generation. And either upgrade, or get a new machine when a console generation has ended.
"Bu.. but what about points?"
nonsense, if you need points to enjoy a game, or to explore a game fully, then get over yourself and face you're not a gamer.
"Bu.. but what about my fancy wii-mote"
It's just a different way of controlling, get over yourself, I'm sure you could play wii-tennis with just as much ease when using a mouse.
"Bu.. but moving your arms around is fun"
No, it's a novelty that'll wear off, and then you'll have to just face what the game has to offer (I have played the wii extensively, and I do not enjoy the moving around bit in particular, it had novelty value that wore off quickly.
"Bu.. but my favourite games are on consoles"
No your favourite brands are... stop being a brand-addict.
See? I can play that game too.
