That would be close to the highest GeForce 9-Series card, the 9800GX2. Even then, it should be more around $550-$600.

The 9800GTX should be around $450.

Again, this argument and logic fails. Even if the GPU costs the most, you can get a very good dual-core CPU for cheap and then just think about the accessories. $30 for a controller? How about the average price of a PC game being $30-40 instead.

Heck if you want a controller on a PC, you can get the Xbox 360 controller and then you're all set.

Actually, all 3 current consoles + high end PC = Win. :D

Oh and actually an 8800GT is a mid-to-high end card; performance/enthusiast market. Same would go for the HD3870. Whereas the HD3870 X2 and the eventual 9800GX2 are high-end cards tailored towards the enthusiast market only.

Why don't you people do the same thing with the hardware too? Why don't you use the power of internet/google, and do some half-of-a-minute research before going to shop and buying a "$5000" rig? Compare reviews with current prices; consider bestbuys etc.
