How fast do you think NOA shuts this down?
I think they definitely will. They replaced the costumes in Fatal Frame, too. Not sure if they did for Europe though.
There's also a bath scene, and in the censored version, the girl is wearing her clothes. She didn't in my version though, so I assume NA got shafted again.

This games seriously making me want to buy a WiiU, but damn Reggie has to ruin everything.
@ReadingRainbow4: Just one of the reasons people associate Nintendo with "kiddie". Because they treat their fanbase like children.
That will be censored like Fatal Frame. Nintendo will continue to treat their fans like infants and we will still be mad at them. Get your shit together Nintendo.
I dont think they will censor this one, they just have censored the 13-year old girl one so far. But the new clothes they gave her look epic.

Oh please, like leaving it alone would change that in even the smallest way. That reception will be sticking to them for as long as a plumber, kid with monsters, and Hylian adventurer and his princess stick with them (further adding a family of simians, a power stealing puffball, Mii related sports, and now, an ink-based shooter). The only way that could happen is all those IP's get abolished and that would be a controversy of it's own and Nintendo never could strive off that, unlike say Rockstar Games, Eminem, or Donald Trump.
@ultimateimp: That's not what I said. I draw a line somewhere.. probably. The 13yo costume is a bit too much. I won't be using that.
They're optional. They're not forced upon you. If there's people out there that wanna use them, fine. Let them. They're not bothering me.

Sony or Square Enix did that with Final Fantasy Type o as well.
We need the Panty Police to take care of this for us.
Nudists of America are on the way to help.
they have censored other games for less than this, so this one will not last long once NOA get their hands on it. For the past few years NOA has been employing a bunch of feminists to censor these kind of stuff and you can find them on twitter gloating about it.

they censored a bathing suit for fatal frame. I think its safe to say nintendo will censor anything no matter the age of said character. I still think its stupid on their part.

At least it's on their own project, rather than say, a third party's.

Fatal Frame had bathing suit? Thats weird, i would have removed them also, they dont fit in horror games good.

from what I gather its optional outfit. Your not forced to use it. Its kinda like how SH3 had that super hero costume unlockable. yea it doesint match anything, but its still goofy and enjoyable.
For some reason, the sexualized costumes do not fit the female characters (especially the teenager Lin) and seem out of place in Xenoblade Chronicles X.
@finalfantasy94: I think you might be talking about the lingerie outfits that were replaced with Nintendo outfits. Yeah, that sucks for those who wanted them. I enjoyed the Nintendo themed outfits though, they were also very sexy in Bayonetta. But yeah, i think i remember now, they had them cool lingerie outfits.
Bayonetta has clothes made of her own hair that magically becomes her attacks... and in the process remove themselves from her body.
And Nintendo not only allowed that game on their console, but put the money forward to have one made.
@foxhound_fox: Yeah but thats the whole style of Bayonetta, to try and be sexy. Fatal Frame is trying to be scary and Xenoblade is trying to be serious and techy. Americans are not as open minded as the Japanese. Japanese can separate the two and judge them independently.
after they gutted the titillating content out of Fatal Frame for Wii U I wouldn't be surprised if they gutted this too

Major difference, Bayonetta is STILL a third party IP first and foremost. If Nintendo did make a major change like that, SEGA (who supervised the project, mind you) and Platinum would have a fit.
@locopatho: Has nothing to do with Nintendo, its Americans that dont like it. Nintendo dont mind, if they did they would have never made it like that.
Please leave it as is for EU/AU ... though unlikely .. Project Zero: Maide of Black Water EU/AU also got the Ninti (western) censorship. :P
