I think i read somewhere that waste space on dashboards wastes energy and is the 5th leading cause of global warming.

The Blades aren't bad at all I believe. They are quite organized and getting to and fro of what you want in the Blades menu isn't hard either. Also it's pretty smooth and slick on how it's just organized as a whole.

Sometimes I have trouble with XMB on PS3 for things like Music, Pictures and Video when it's in need of organizing. Sony really should focus on fixing that, because currently 360 does it better for me in terms of organizing my content. Giving me a list to brwose by "Artist, Songs, Albums and Playlists" while the PS3 only gives me a playlist and then separates my albums/songs. :|

As for online functionality, there's XBLM blade and then XBL. The XBL blade isn't difficult either... you have messages/friends listed into one spot, then chat in another by each other. The Gamercard is the top part, but who needs that I guess? I hardly look at mine personally, but it's right there and in all other blades if you do.

XBLM IMO is something that can be better organized though, as of now I don't like how it works in some ways.

Now with that said... customizeable themes on PS3 rock. :D

Erm........ don't know if you looked at your XMB recently, but it's kind of barren, granted, I do like it that way, but I'm usre not everyone does.

XMB is overcomplicated.

360 blade system is so simple and easy to use that they had to do something with that extra space. I actually got 2 free video downloads because of the add's I seen. Plus some demo's I didn't even know about.

It shows that the blade system shows each blade name on the screen at all times. As opposed to the XMB which bleeds off to the margins. That's a usability issue that I think works for the 360 dashboard since you never have to scroll all whe way the extremes to see everything. Looks like the convenience of seeing all blades took precedence over seeing the background.

Much more of the XMB is unused space compared to the Dashboard.

In regards to ad space, the XMB has none. This is probably why they're pushing for Home.

Uhm, no. Cows pick the PS3 because they can't afford XBL. So I guess that just makes Xbox gamers the more elitist of the two since I can pay my $50 a year without giving a second thought to it. Sorny's network is still in the "COMING SOON" mode as well...as it has been since the one-year-late release date.

It's 90% game related... Get the demo now on market place or a specific game weekend/contest. Every now and then it's a movie or TV show add... Letting you know that there is new movies and TV shows on the market place or in theaters... Or to get gamer pics, themes. I don't see anything wrong with that.

All I can say is that mine doesn't look as crappy as this guy's screenshot makes it out to be. Also, I don't have that much arc on the ends that is wasted. Perhaps he's not running it at a decent resolution with component or HD cables?

One person commented its "milkage" but the funny thing is that the Sorny network still doesn't exist. It's just stuff they keep saying is coming out later. It'll be interesting to see if its still free or if Sornage will have milkage of its own. LOL!

Then you can include newspapers, magazines and cable/satellite TV as milkage also. They all have ads even though we pay for them.

As I said before, I don't mind paying. Sometimes Mr. Softy will send out a note about a temporarily free downloadable XBL arcade, among other things. And other threads here are already complaining about the bothersomeness of Sorny's free online service.

I think the true reason us 360 owners pay for Live is because we have no choice. We love online gaming that much and MS knows it. That's the reaspn I pay for it. Other than that there is nothing that justifies the price.
