y doesnt blizzard make a really awesome game now?

Since they would have like billions and billions of dollars from WOW they wouldnt run outa funds and should make a really detailed, realistic looking game that is 20+ gigs.

Personally i hate all these games which r suppose to be "AWESOMELY REALISTIC", the player u play as is really realistic but things like grass, trees, the hair etc look like some 8 bit rendition. IF YOUR GONA MAKE A REALISTIC GAME MAKE IT ALL REALISTIC or just downgrade the realism to make everything look the same.

As apposed to buying say 1 game a month its pretty cheap. considering the 100s of hours of gameplay aswell, its the way MMO's run , you are renting server space, the price is probably inflated quite abit but oh well, so is XBOX LIVE.

Its still one hell of an amazing game, I think the 10 Million ACTIVE subscribers right now after 3 years speaks for itself ;)

That goes to show how important graphics really are, compared to gameplay. Thousands of people still go online daily to play SC1 @ 640X480 res. with tiny 2D sprites.

i got bored of it about a year after. actually part boredom and part too busy to go on 3-4 hour raids 3 times a week. it was like a freaking job. Esp since you got points for going to raid and had to spend them if you wanted items.

Blizzard honestly doesn't need to make any more games. :P They earn 100-150 million USD monthly on WoW fees alone. That's insane.Erkidu

first the size of the game in GB doesent dictate its quality.

second, there are technical limitations of current hardware to take into account

third, that kind of game is not blizzards style. itd be like asking ninty to make the next total war game, or the creative assembly to make the next zelda....there just not that kind of company. blizzards target is simple, to make perfectly balanced and very fun games and its something they do very well

fourth, why would u bring ure entire graphics tech down to suit the lowest common denominator. so some parts of a game look 8 bit (cant think of anything off hand mind)...doesent meant they should make the game look 8bit. it relates to point number 2, devs can only work with what theyve got. having everything super detailed is not feasible on any platform. hell even crysis cuts corners to save on resources.

it's not just for mmo newbs. my whole guild (which as an average age above 30) was heavily into wow and we had migrated from 3 other mmo's since we formed back in 2001. WoW has something for most types of mmorpgers and it does this with a very user friendly interface which the "hardcore" mmorpger can customize any way they like.

It's to bad that WoW is so addicting.
The fact that I almost needed rehab to uninstall the game says enough.

Sony let me beta test EQ2 when it came out and again about 2 years later they offered a free month to anyone in my guild to test it out. Some of us tried it (including me) and none of use really liked it. the world just seemed so stale and lifeless. or generic compared to the world that blizzard provided. the quests were just boring too.

WoW is my first and last MMO. Only playing because I love the story. I bet 1/2 the players don't even read the lore from the quest they are doing.jangojay

there are many really humorous and interesting quests in wow just in the begining. I didn't find any in the month i played EQ2. not later on wow quests start to get more boring too but they established the world so well already and eq2 just didn't do that for me.

I'm playing neither right now and waiting for Warhammer Age of Reckoning actually.

It's an RTS. I didn't expect it to be realistic.
