GT5 E3 Trailer Shows "Very Small Portion" of Game

Editor Jeff Rubenstein from the "Official" PlayStation Blog interviewed Kazunori Yamauchi last month during E3, and has just now shared the video with the world. For regular GTPlanet readers, there's nothing here that you don't already know. However, Yamauchi made a few interesting comments that are catching some attention:

"We always set very high goals and ideals for our games, and the GT5 trailer that you saw [at E3] is a very small portion of what we're working on. And as long as we actually achieve our goals and fulfill our expectations, I'm sure it would set the new industry standard." -Kazunori Yamauchi

I really hope PD manage to pull this off, but Yamauchi is starting to come off as desperate. If the E3 trailer is only a small portion of the game, and if GT5 is in beta/final polishing (which they've implied), why not show off more? Why not talk about the game (rather than the development of the game)? Why not update Prologue to Spec IV? It's reached the point where I'm starting to think that the only reason GT PSP is coming out in October is to help fund GT5's development.

So... we may have to wait more? Bah... I'll take FM 3 this year and play that game... if it ever comes out... maybe he's challenging DNF... so maybe it won't be ever coming out and it will be cancelled as Poly shuts down their studios and umm... what else happened to the DNF guys? :P yoshi_64

Take-Two is currently suing the pants off of them for not delivering DNF in a timely fashion. :P

I've been thinking the same thing. If the game is truly as far along as they make it out to be, why are they keeping such a tight lid on it? Why not show off more of the game so many people have been waiting so long to hear about? It doesn't make sense.

Well he did say franchise and according to Gamespot GT isn't an AAA franchise even though GT has the highest rated game between GT and Forza.

I seriously want to get this game as soon as possible and get addicted to it for a whole year. I am completely ready to blow over 400 dollars over GT5 just for the game and Logitech G25. :)
