The first big war was Nintendo vs Sega. I couldn't stand Sega and loved my NES, SNES, and N64. 3D0 showed up and it was a joke in software and died out quietly. Sony showed up with a Playstation. I hated Sony during its entry into the market, and stood by Nintendo. But then Mortal Kombat looked best on the PS so I bought, loved itand Twisted Metal and fell in love. Then I purchased the PS2, loved it even more. Dropped a few PS2's in my day, so I ended up owning 4 of them. Gamecube showed up and my wife bought it for me, and I loved it. Zelda, Metroid, Mario Resident Evil series updated, andRE4. Gamecube heaven. Xbox showed up and well I had mixed emotions. I stood by my PS2 more then anything, but I love American made things or at least created by Americans in this case.(buti will never buy a *** car)On the other hand I don't like Microsoft and there hold on the software market and operating systems. I wish they had more competition and didn't steal so much from Apple. /rant off. Halo 2 came along and my buddies loved it, I was deep in Socom 1 and 2 though. I purchased a used Xbox for $100 bucks and till this day, i've owned only 4 games on it. Thats including Halo 2. Socom 2 seamed alot more fun for me though. My xbox now resides in a taped up box. Now I own a PS3 and love it. Sony rocks.
So it was Nintendo vs Sega. Then nintendo vs Sony. Now its Sony vs Microsoft with Nintendo making huge sales in the background. IF this was a fight it looks like Sony and MS are killing each other while Nintendo sits back and watchs to kill the last standing of the two. Nintendo in the green, SOny and MS both in the red in there gaming departments. Now in 13 years Which one of these three will still be with us?
What electronics or entertainment company will push out an all new system? How bout Samsung, IBM, Intel, Disney, Apple. All these and more have the ability to create a system for gaming.
Honestly, I see Nintendo around in 2020, as well as Sony and MS. But I believe another will surface.
