Year 2020 Who has a gaming system out?

I was too young to care... :lol: All I know was that I had both systems and a ton of games. Its never been the same with dueling system being damn near equal and doing a great job trying to 1up each other (WITH GAMES!!!). MK2 may be better on the SNES but the Genesis had the processor to handle Madden properly...It was a win-win situation, a gamers delight!

True gaming was so much better back then.

Why did SONY and Microsoft had to shun the Japanese developers for the crappy Western developers that just create watered down PC games. :(

Oh well there's always the DS that produces quality games :)

Lets see.

SONY leaves the hardware business after the dismal PS3, so they won't be around in 2020. They be making tvs only by that date the way things are currently going for them.

Nintendo will still be in business with their newest console that they will release around 2017. It will be named the Wii 2 and will have the best graphics ever and improve upon the current Wii's abilities.

Microsoft will leave the scene when they realize people do not want them messing up the video game business the way they have done in the computer one.

Sega reenters gaming with the death of sony and microsoft.

ps3s burn in landfills. Many of them unpurchased.

I could honestly see both Microsoft and SONY leaving if they aren't profiting, their main profit isn't gaming since they're electronics/software companies, Nintendo however is a gaming company so they'll stay to the very end. Look up SEGA to see what I mean.

First of all, in 2020 there won't be "gaming machines" everything is going to run off one device that does everything.

Google is going to buy Sun Microsystems and start a huge online computer service where you buy there $50 system and simply use there mainframes to play anything you want.

Sandisk is going to get into the handheld market with a flash memory game device that you can make, buy, and sell your own games that you download of the computer.

Sony will still be here but be struggling with being the last to keep trying to make a purely gaming machine and instead attach there product to TV's and make you use there purple-ray player.

Nintendo will have every little kid everywhere still playing Poke'mon.

Microsoft will have combined there PC's OS and the XBOX to make the best multimedia device ever conceived by man. Sadly, however it will have bugs and you'll have to download 6 updates every time you turn it on.

I think all will continue and there won't be 4th console cuz nobody will buy it, and we are havingfew developers, maybe if the old developres comeback and new arrives also, maybe there will be 4th console.

In its place we'll have an extremely large internet service and this is how it will run:You will have an interface device, probably just a pc, but could be a box that connects the internet to your TV. And, you wont be able to own video games. Instead, you'll pay for the rights to a game from the company so that whenever you enter your account you'll have all the games you paid for available to you. Something like the VC or xbla, but you wont be saving it onto a harddrive. There will be huge servers for games, movies, and whatever, and all of your saves and setting will be saved like you save documents in your email. This will curb piracy since you'll never actually own a copy of whatever, just the rights to enjoy the content of a file. In that way, it will be much like protected streaming video.

I honesty dont see video games being around in any huge form like they are today in 2020. Our fractional reserve bank and credit system means that unless our economy grows each year then it will crash. World peak oil production looks to be occuring sometime between now and 2020 and will force our economy to slow down, causing it to crash.

So the answer is that no-one will. :) have a nice day

1- Actually I'll be sick if I saw one game on all platforms plus one( NFL on Nintendo console and handheld, PS, PSP, Xbox, PC, Mac PCs and new Sega ),NO we need new devs. to see new games and exclusives.

1. Yes YOU will be, but the developers see it as cash cows, and new devs will form. For example Capcom and Square created new devs to work on the 360 for new IP's.

If things keep going exactly the way they are now, I believeMS will eat Sony alive in the next13 years of the game industry.By 2020 (and perhaps much sooner), MS will dominate the market and leave their much weakened (to be) competitors like Nintendo around to keep from looking likethemonopoly that they are.

Well my Wishful Thinking is Capcom, but in seriousness I just think gaming will be a unified format by then.
