Is this a which is best or which is worst poll?

Super Nintendo. The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!

Seriously, I never can tell how this is even a contest. Barring Sonic (glorious on MEGA) and Streets Of Rage (co-op crack) I never felt I missed much, an impression not altered in later years when I played some of the HD collections/ports of these Sega games.

It's actually... Genesis does what Nintendont but eh, same difference and it's still true.... SEGA!!!!! For life. lol :P

Maybe if they bothered releasing SNES classics like Earthbound, Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG here we'd have better taste :P

Wow this is hard. I guess objectively it would be the SNES, but I grew up int he EU with the Genesis. I love so many of its games and some great SNES games never made it over here. I voted Genesis for my pure bias.

Easy choice. SNES all day everyday. So many amazing games like the Super Mario games, Chrono Trigger, Contra III, Final Fantasy II & III, Sparkster, Super Castlevania IV, Final Fight 1, 2, and 3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mega Man X games, Breath of Fire games, Secret of Mana, etc., etc., etc. The system had much better graphic and sound capabilities.

SNES, no contest. Genesis had some gems, but SNES got masterpiece after masterpiece.

I had and still own both. I like Genesis better.

SNES and it was my very first ever gaming console my Parents got me on my Birthday in 1993. Love the SNES and it was so much better then Genesis. My parents got me Genesis late in it's cycle and the only games I care about was Sonic games only.

Pretty sure Genesis/Mega Drive had a sizable fanbase in the US too (about the same level as SNES). Just saying. Japan on the other hand would agree.

Anyway, for me, SNES. No battle. No war.

Why so?

genesis easily. Snen and Nes are 2 most overrated console at those times. Sega did more than nintendo.

each and every multiplat was better on genesis and Sonic games were far better than mario. and also dont forget those shitty duck hunt/light shooting games. terrible gimmicks those times. almost as bad as kinect.

SNES wins in just about every genre except beat-em-up and sports (but really sports is lowest tier genre on these boards)

When you compare the SNES Classic to the Genesis compilations- 20 games vs 50, the SNES still wins :P

Mortal Kombat II wasn't. The Street Fighter games weren't.

street fighter 2 alone was better game than entire snes library.

I enjoyed the Genesis a lot, but SNES is where my heart goes. So many great games and memories with.

I love them both and they are both among my top 5 favorite consoles of all time. There were a lot of great games on the Genesis, but the SNES had more all-time classic games that rank among my favorite games of all time, so the SNES wins.

What drugs are you on?

The Genesis was amazing but overall I preferred the SNES, one of the greatest systems I ever owned, so many awesome games....also, I played a lot of Street Fighter 2 on that system.

They call it the "Mega Drive". What a bunch of jokers.

Genesis for its library's weirdness and spunk. But the SNES undoubtedly had some hardware advantages and some of my favorites games. I really wouldn't want to choose only one

I'm not sure what his position is. Street Fighter wasn't an exclusive franchise.

I think you hit a lot of them, but I don't see:

Even if you grant that the Genesis had great titles, you still have the problem of explaining the endless list of redundant sports titles.

Nice shout out to Scooby Doo Mystery! My sister loaned me the old family SNES this past summer/fall and I played a few games to get me pumped for SNES Classic that weren't included on it. I played Scooby Doo Mystery (couldn't believe it was only 4 levels long that's the beauty of childhood lol), Goof Troop, Turtles in Time, and Aladdin.

Probably the only thing we will EVER agree on.

On a side note Mega Drive sounds better than Genesis.

genesis was ghetto everything about it screamed 2nd class next to the snes the controller looked like shit and the sound and music can't even come close to the snes

I had a game gear though that thing was the bomb way better than gameboy

I was sorta jelly of ecco the dolphin and sonic of course those games looked great

I had both at the time (and an Amiga 2000), Megadrive (Genesis) had much better games than the SNES did and a lot more of them. I know Nintendo was really big in USA during this time, they didnt play games they played Nintendo and I expect Genesis was overlooked by most people over there. The Amiga > both though.

Genesis for me. Opinion may be biased but I have a lot more memories with it playing Streets of Rage 2, Altered Beast, Vectorman, Earthworm Jim, Sonic & Knuckles, Batman Forever, The Lion King, Aladdin, Golden Axe, Shinobi, Ecco the Dolphin, and Toejam and Earl. It was always sega over Nintendo for me until N64 came out

Graphically, I can't tell a difference between a SNES game or Genesis. I know fanboys will claim some massive difference because SNES had more colours or some BS, but bro, come on.

Sound wise, same thing. Again, Fanboys will claim they can tell the difference. I can't. They are freaking sounds LOL.

Speed/Gameplay, Genesis wins. There is a noticeable difference. I can feel it. Genesis is smoother. SNES feels slower.

I still love the SNES, but Genesis wins.
