Yet again Microsoft has completely abandoned the core gamer this year

It has already been proven the 360 has the best game library and exclusives just like it has been proven there is a healthy number of games coming out this year and a good number of exclusives as well. Live with it.

Plus...........a new console. Something Sony can't do into Vizio or Samsung buys them out.

System wars includes PC, you can't try to dismiss it just because it crushes your cheap casual consoles.

Last time I heard.Kinect was making the move to PC also.

I think alot of people are missing the point with the lack of 'hardcore' games for 360 this year. The people that want a 360 for these games already have one. I strongly believe that MS is working on the launch lineup for the new console. in the mean time that means selling systems to people that dont have them, the casual / family crowd. its business. Thats all. MS are just trying to reach more customers, as any company would do. (nintendo did, Sony tried) How many people that want to play gears / halo / forza etc dont already own a 360? My guess would be few indeed. That limits severly the number of units that can be sold. MS are not stupid, people should credit them with more intelligence. BibiMaghoo

You might have a point. Look at it this way, i've always said, jokes aside, the PS3 and 360 are practically the same bar a few exclusives. And they both have about 50% of the same market. So there's already 120 million people who have a current gen HD console, they aren't really going to squeeze a lot more out before the next gen. So what MS is doing is good business by extending the console to another market. And unlike others who bring out peripherals they are supporting it, suddenly that's a terrible thing.

It does make sense that MS could be starting to focus 1st party on the next gen. Usually the first years really dry and full of ports and they're going to need to stand out if Sony release along side them.

How was this surprising? MS has completely abandoned the origioanal Xbox fanbase that made the system great, they dumped them for the Kinect soccer moms. The bad thing is though, is that MS doesn't have very many 1st party studios, so if they are making a new next genXbox and people are betting on having all these new exclusive games for it, they are going to be dissapointed.

MS has a total of about 6 main 1st party devs, and two of them are jokes because MS won't use them (Rare and Alan Wake team), the onlyones left are Halo 343 studios (bungie is multiplat now), new Dev team for Gears (Epic is also multiplat now), Forza team, and Fable which is also going to Kinect.That's all they have, so unless they have beengetting new devs in secret, next gen won't be any different from what we are having now.

I expect the next Xbox to be only slightly more powerful then systems now (I don't expect a huge jump in power like last gen to this gen with anyone though) and they will focus mostly with Kinect 2.0 and making that more integrated, along withthe occasional Halo game they will milk every year. This is all just speculation of course, but if you look at what their strategy is, this is the direction that makes the most sense for them.

It's not right to abandone your main audience like that, I know alot of Xbox gamers are just ditching the platform and going to PS3 and PC now because of the way MS has screwed them.
