Video game companies have been milking consumers since NES when a second controller wasn't included in the box. It's the nature of the beast. Sony is milking with the ungodly entry fee of $499 (cmon, we all know that real gamers will get the 80 gb version), MS is milking by charging for every possible peripheral with the lame excuse that 'we're giving you more choices', and Nintendo is milking...well, actually Nintendo is the only one who's not really milking this gen. They actually include a game with their hardware, and sell their peripherals fairly cheap.kevbo77

Your list is crap. Seriosly, you need to try harder.

1) $15 for old xbox games- Fair enough to complain, most would seem to agree that the price is a bit steep. 10 dollars would have been nice, but when you consider what Nintendo on virtual console ($8 for a genesis game?) maybe $15 isn't so far off the mark.

You forgot to mention the awesome freebies we have seen on XBL. Carcasonne, Texas Hold-em, Agis wing, and Oblivion content like the razor, and fighters stronghold, . Free content pops up on XBL marketplace every now and again. It is just a matter of paying attention.

While I agree that the themes are a bit overpriced, MS got it right where it counts. XBLA pricing. When you consider that Nintendo will sell you a NES game with no updates for the same price that MS sells you a old-school arcade game, updated with HD graphics and online modes, it is hard to complain.

Actually the controller one is pretty much not a choice, at least for me. Either keep buying batteries or spend $25 to buy rechargeable batteries or buy their charger. That's a rip-off IMO. Others I don't care about. The HDD is not nice too anyhow.

It's free until December 31st. It's a promotional offer - just like Microsoft giving away Carcassone, Halo 3, 10 XBLA games or any of the other promotions they've done.
