]He wasn't saying they would be bad...He was speaking relative to the PC version, which WW himself has said is the main focus right now.
exactly. The Wii and DS versions might be great but you can't seriously expect them to be a straight comparison to the PC?The PC version will be scaleable so the visuals will most assuredly have the opportunity to be more stunning on the PC version. Visuals aren't a strong seling point for the Wii to begin with, but even when a console game gets ported to the PC it gets scaleable visuals and is more stunning. This is common practice, and shouldn't be seen as a hinderance to the console version.
I was wondering if anything otherwise has changed. Dumbed down is pretty broad.
That being said, I doubt I could enjoy it on the PC available to me and don't want/can't get a new one. The Wii version will be amazing and I'm stoked for it.

Well the DS is basically going to be a spin off, that is confirmed by Will Wright. I believe it won't even feature all the different stages. I admit I based my comments on the DS version and I assumed the Wii version wouldn't be much different to the DS version. The main problem for the Wii aren't even it's graphical capabiliteis, but rather it's storage problems and online functions.
The true strength of Spore (IMO) is that everything is user generated and therefore everytime you play through the game you will face millions of different creatures all made by other users. Meaning that it will always be an unique experience. I wonder how either the online capabilities and more importantly the limited amount of storage can handle it all. So I assume that in all the different stages it will either not feature user created content all together or very limited.
Oh and Will Wright has said that if you can run the Sims 2, you are probably going to be able to run Spore.

I agree with you. I think the user generated material is an exciting facet of the gameplay. Despite the issues that people have with the Wii's online capacity, it has the same physical connection that the other systems have (including PC). The issues are more on the application of those (no voicechat, friend codes, etc.). These shouldn't effect the ability to gather those resources from a dedicated server. The storage problem may cause a bit of a hiccup, but I can't think of a save file I've ever had that was bigger than half a gig. Presumably, all the necessary information can be stored.
The only other factor is no installs. This may mean that multiple disks are needed. Considering today's big titles rarely go over 1 disk, and the fact that such a large portion is user generated, and I don't think that it is something that can't be overcome. Granted, multiple galaxies have a large amount of information involved.
It will certainly be interesting to see how it plays out! It might just be wishful thinking that the Wii is relatively unscathed.
Also, The Wii has several versions of the Sims out. I haven't really gone over the reviews with a finetoothed comb, but they have been received fairly favorably. Especially when considering that the Wii often has trouble in the reviews department because of the learning curve in development.
[QUOTE="AFBrat77"]You should have added Spore, Starcraft 2, or Guild Wars 2 for PC gamers.NcsoftloverI'd take warhammer rather than GW2, but then the poll only has 5 positions.
Warhammer FTW!
