What do you pick?
I'd probably say Berserk since the most recent game is just a Dynasty warriors game and the series would translate well to a video game.
I think a Dragons Dogma formula would probably work best.

Ghost in the Shell
Good call. I think Scarlett Johannson might be worth a look for the lead role too. Any thoughts?
Inuyasha
I still own Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale PSX and I personally thought it was awesome and kinda in the same league with Gundam Battle Assault 2.
Inuyasha is getting reboot I heard, a new game would be something to see on PS5.
Akira, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell are on the top of my mind.
But we're getting Cyberpunk, so Akira mods, please come out.
Detective Conan ala LA Noire too, I guess.
Ghost in the Shell, they've made games before, but not an ambitious AAA productions, I wanna see one.

Cyberpunk 2077 got its inspiration from Blade Runner, & even Ghost in the Shell, so Cyberpunk 2077 will be my Ghost in the Shell AAA game.
hmm, probably Kimi No Nawa or Howl Moving Castle or Blood+.
Kimi no Nawa would make for a great visual novel style game like Life is Strange.
Howl Moving Castle can be such a visual spectacle with its Magical setting and controlling the moving castle, traversing the picturesque mountainous landscape would be such a great time.
Blood+ idk I don't remember much about the plot but its about vampire and stuff. Saya is pretty likable heroine.
Gimme a fully realized open world One Piece game please. Or an MMO in that universe would be pretty neat too.
Ghost in the Shell
I loved that game on the PS1. I think it would be awesome to see a big budget game cut from the same cloth.

Berserk was the first thing that came to mind when I read the title. Considering the big impact that Berserk has had on video games, from Final Fantasy VII to the Souls series, a big-budget game adaptation of Berserk is long overdue. And it has potential to crossover well to Western audiences. Berserk is so dark, grim and bloody that it makes Western grimdark fantasy like Game of Thrones and The Witcher look like Disney movies in comparison.
@TheGrat1: I know there were plenty that came before. I remember Speed Racer (didn't like it), G Force (cool but not great) and Tranzor Z (rocket tits cracked me up), but none of them grabbed me like Robobtech. If not for Robotech, I never would have cared about anime. For me personally, it is the OG.

Couldn't agree more.. I believe the manga is finally going to be finished this year after 30 years. So hopefully we can get some quality game adaptions.
Was going to say Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood where you can travel the world and do "alchemist stuff" ... while also reviving the story of the Anime ... but damn, space battles in the Robotech universe ... that sounds amazing.

I'd like to see a game adaptation of Berserk handled by either From Software and Hidetaka Miyazaki (who is a big fan of Berserk), or by Capcom (using either Dragon's Dogma or Monster Hunter as a template).
If they can be turned into an action-adventure games would have said:
Don't you mean Macross? That image is from the Macross saga, the first Robotech saga, which was an Americanized version of the original Macross. And it's the best saga in the Robotech series, by far. Macross spawned two different franchises, Macross in Japan and Robotech in America, each with their own separate universes and timelines.
Trivia: Macross creator Shoji Kawamori came up with the concept of transforming mechs for Macross, and went on to design the original Transformers. So the Macross, Robotech and Transformers franchises all originate from the same guy. The plot and characters of Macross/Robotech also have a number of striking similarities to the later Tom Cruise movie Top Gun, so it's possible that Top Gun may have been influenced by Macross/Robotech.

Those would honestly be dream scenarios.. unfortunately will probably have to settle for a Namco/ Bandai cash grab.
I think either Dragons Dogma or Demon Souls style game with Berserk could be a massive hit. Winning the Hardcore DS and DD crowd and of course enticing Berserk fans to purchase the game as well. I remember the DreamCast game back in the day. It was actually a solid game and had an original story that fit nicely within the manga.
Full Metal Alchemist. Giant action rpg where you travel and fight across the land of make-believe-ia or whatever it's called. I love that world and would love to live in it for a while.
Another anime that would work great as a video game:
Gurren Lagann
It's such an epic, over-the-top and outrageously fun show to watch. It has a great story and characters combined with the most insane action scenes ever made.
A well-done game adaptation could be a blast to play. I'd love to see Capcom or Platinum Games make a crazy over-the-top action game based on Gurren Lagann.
Cowboy Bebop
All day, every day. It is the perfect universe that would translate very effectively to a video game.

A TPS with melee combat and some spaceship combat as well.
That would be awesome.

Mass Effect-like exploration with bounty hunting mechanics.

You misunderstand. I was not saying that calling Robotech OG was ironic because it was not one of the first anime. I called it ironic because Robotech itself is a compilation of three completely unrelated anime that had their stories changed to force them to fit together. The most prominent one being Macross, which is a franchise in and of itself. There is nothing "original" about it. You did not know this?
