Do you want to know what Sony's big announcement for PSP was at E3?

Spiderman.

No it wasn't, it was a new resistance game for the PSP, you just failed badly.

Also Super Stardust Portable.

TC your reading comprehension skills leave much to be desired. Sony never advocated piracy. In fact unlike a lot of companies who delusionaly believe that they can stop piracy, Sony merely accepted the fact that piracy is a major factor and problem, and that there is nothing they can do to stop it. Sony didnt tell you to download their games off of bittorent, they merely said that they are aware many users do. And they appealed to their customers to get the game legitimately for guaranteed quality.

I think Sony is taking the right direction by openly accepting they are powerless to stop the rampant piracy.Accepting your short comings is the first step in finding a solution to any problem. Right now most companies are trying to find ways to block piracy. They are using improved security measures and so forth. But what they dont understand is that piracy is unstoppable. For all the measures they put up, there is a hacker out there capable of taking them down. Instead of trying to block piracy, they should be thinking of a way to work around it, and in order to do so, you have to accept that your current methods are ineffective.

I'll be buying a PSP next year once Resistance and KH are out and it will most likely be really cheap.

lol. yeah the topic title is jacked, so you really lost your credibility there. sorry.

so there is a slight slowdown games. BIG DEAL. At least it had some good games earlier this year like Clank (june), Flatout Headon(april),God of War(march), Wipeout Pulse(feb). I really doubt you could name off that many good games for the DS or Wii.

and there's always playing old games like Ace Combat X, GTA VCS or LCS, or Remote play through ps3.

and even with a slow in the game library, i'm still thinking the PSP is not DEAD yet. When they go a few months without a great game coming out, THEN i will believe your statement.

You only listed four titles....

DS; FF IV, Professor Layton, TWEWY, Advance Wars...

Wii; Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Boom Blox, No More Heroes....

Maybe it's not entirely dead, but so far almost all other systems have trumped it in 2008...

Sony did not promote piracy. they just admited it is there. All he said was "You can wait for it and you can have it in good quality" He is basically saying if you do NOT want to wait you will NOT get it in good quality (pirated). Sony isn't going to be in denial about piracy, but they are not promoting it.

So JULY was a bad month. I dont think any console had a great release for JULY. Wait til the last Quarter of the year. THEN we'll see if the PSP is going to sink or swim.

You know the PSP is dead, when Parasite Eve is announced and nobody cares.

But seriously, even without a game coming out in forever, it still sees a hell of a lot more play then my DS does. Doesn't matter if they release 20 DS games a month, like Wii Shovelware, most of it isn't worth the purchase.

It's software is mostly dead, due to piracy, but the hardware is still selling like hotcakes (Due to the ease of piracy, no doubt.)loganh92

Hacking a PSP is harder then hacking a DS you know because firmware updates can really mess things up :P

Besides, there are not enough really good games to warrant buying a PSP to be honest, the homebrew community does not really exist compared to the DS either. I have both and have about 8 PSP games versus like 30 for my DS and there are always new games coming out for the DS that are worth playing despite the droughts it has in the summer.

yes, you know the PSP is dead when it has...

Final Fantasy Dissidia
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
Final Fantasy XIII Agito
Parasite Eve : The 3rd Birthday
Resistance : Retribution

All potentially AAA games. Yup, that certainly makes a dead, andempty system :)

Oh, and more!

Star Ocean: The First Departure
Star Ocean 2: Second Evolution
Patapon 2
LocoRoco 2

And I'm sure there's a bunch more I'm missing, but yeah, it's a dead system

[By the way, you're ruining Tony Harrison]

[QUOTE="cyprusxx"]are u a DS fanboy or somthing, been arguing with your friends that the ds is btter than the psp? why do u find the need to try proove that the psp is dead? Tony-Harrison

Your assumption is wrong, if anything I prefer the oldschool PC platform.

PSP has had a number of recent lulz this month. Like the hilariously funny piracy quote from Sony. It's pretty much on Life Support. 2008 will be remembered as the final year of the PSP.

There are 5 games from Square-Enix alone that I want for the PSP. What are you going on about?

The PSP hasn't died yet. I'm sure sells will pick up. There are also some decent titles coming at the end of the year and next year. The oonly problem with that is how long must PSP owners wait?
