Yes I wonder how many people here have learnt Japanese so they can play all of the games that only get released there. As far as I'm concerned anyone who plays games is a gamer, even if it's just tetris.

Nobody has ever played ALL games, but when gaming is a passsion you dont find time you make time

So owning an Atari 26000, NES, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Sega Saturn, Atari Jaguar, PS1, N64, Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, 360, Wii a gaming PC and pretty soon the PS3, doesn't make me a gamer? OMG! WHATEVER WILL I DO!

I'm a gamer and nothing will change that.

Actually he was on point... he can enjoy the value of a game without having to play the game himself. I think what he intends to say is that he can appreciate games for what they bring to gaming even if they aren't games that he himself wants to play.

You can be a gamer and only have one system... if it is the system that produces the type of games you like to play. Being a gamer doesn't mean liking every type of game, or even every genre of gaming.... A hardcore is recognized by the amount of time he puts into his gaming. Someone could own all 3 systems b/c somone else bought them while the 'gamer' hardly spends much time with any of them.... that would not be a true gamer, even though he'd be considered a manticore. Yet someone else could choose just one system they're going to invest all of their discretionary income & time in, and they'd be considered a real gamer.

I have owned every system in the past and have been gaming for over 23 yrs... The PS3 is currently the only system I'm interested in b/c of the game lineup the system has and the addition of blu ray. If enough games come out for the other systems that I'm interested in, I'd buy them but I won't be buying them before then.... And I'm just as hardcore as they come. Point blank, a hardcore doesn't buy systems for games they're NOT interested in.
