I’m going to go with Sega. I love how they used to take risks and they weren’t afraid to publish games that were out there or for more mature audiences. Wish they were more like that now. Also like how they bought companies like Atlus, Creative Assembly, and Relic. So for my all time list, I choose Sega. How about you, SW?Your all time favorite gaming company, if you could only choose one?

I really love Vanillaware, I like each of their games and their artstyle, by the way, I think SEGA is the most unappreciated game developer.

Can't.

All time, it's a tossup between Capcom and Nintendo.

Sega and Konami would be up there too.

Didn’t think you would like Nintendo that much considering you hate the hardware 😆 I figured you would go with Capcom since you love Street Fighter!

Man, I think most things about Nintendo suck. But I like their games, always have.

Yeah I don't care for underpowered hardware, but it's really that I don't care for poor performance. Ironically, even on a potato, Nintendo still typically prioritizes performance. Most Nintendo stuff still hits or at least targets 60 frames.

And of course we're talking all time here, not like Nintendo has always been in the hardware slums.

Too difficult to just choose one. It’s a toss up between Capcom and Nintendo.

Sega. The Sega Genesis, Sega CD and Sega 32X attachments were great fun that I wish were still a thing in console hardware. Sega was always bold with their new gameplay ideas. And the music… Sega‘s games had a musical identity that set them apart from the competition. Sega and their games had a soul. An identity. Something sorely missing outside of Nintendo, who kind carried the torch for Sega in a way. Xbox seemed like they were going to pick up the torch, but that seemed to die off halfway through the 360 days.

@ConanTheStoner: yea, when Nintendo is at their greatest, they’re incredible. Have you tried going beyond Mario and Zelda? I tried Splatoon 3 the other day and thought it was fun.

😂

I am the basic boomer Mario/Zelda/Metroid fan.

But yeah aside from Pokemon I've tried just about all of their franchises. Haven't played Splatoon 3 specifically, but Splatoon is a good time.

Not anymore, but I used to absolutely love Blizzard. I didn't think they would, or could ever fail... but I was wrong.

From Software is still pretty solid. But despite my love for Demon's Souls, I've gotten pretty tired of the formula. Hopefully AC6 is a new evolution.

Yeah that's where I'm at. Funny thing is, I know I'll buy their next "Souls" game day 1 regardless.

If the topic were individual studios, From would no doubt be a contender for me. Could argue they're a bit too formulaic, but can't deny the consistent quality.

Nah, when it blew up, I was a few years older than the main demographic at the time. My little sisters got into it big time.

Heard it had some really good games over the years, but the appeal was lost on me.

I never had much love for Sega, but your love for them is refreshing. I too miss when these companies really tried. Now it's just by the numbers.

I feel like it's a cop out to say this, but who else other than Nintendo? For all the heavy reliance on their core franchises, they still somehow manage to cover a wider range of genres than just about anyone else. You like platormers, rpgs, fighting, racing, sports, rts, shooters, puzzle, action? Nintendo got ya covered.

Easily Nintendo for all time favorite. Wish they would at least try to compete hardware performance-wise though(now).

If I could only choose 1, then I’m going for Nintendo since it’s almost a guaranteed that I’m going to like what ever they release.

Follow really close to Konami because of Castlevania/Silent Hill.

But not Metal Gear, I really hate that game

I think it's the same for everyone here. It was hypothetical dood.

Nintendo's been making great games since 1985. Their library should last a while..

Has to be Sony.

Konami has Metal Gear (best franchise ever) but nothing else interesting.

then there's FromSoft, but that is still only 7 games.

if I can say Sony as a whole that's all Naugty Dog games, Santa Monica, Insomniac etc.

Maybe it's the "only choose one" part. But yeah, the rest of the title and post, knew what you were getting at.

Thinking on that hypothetical "can only play one companies games" though. Damn, any answer would suck tbh. Leaning towards Capcom. Back catalog of fighting games alone, would never truly burn out on those. Then plenty of variety, replay value, and quality among their other series. And I'm sure they have years of good games ahead.

I'd definitely game a whole lot less tho, or just play fighting games exclusively lol

Big Valve dick sucker. A total prostitute.

But if answering on games enjoyed the most over the years and consistently probably be Capcom. And I haven't even really touched a lot of their games (Megaman/DMC), just sitting waiting to be played.

also a big fan of what MS is doing with Gamepass and putting all their first-party stuff on PC day-1. problem is, a lot of the first party stuff hasn't been great
