I am a wii owner who is tired of not having online play. This november, I'm purchasing either an xbox 360 or a PS3, and I can't decide which to get.

Here's the catch, however- as I have a 6 year old brother living with me, I'm not allowed to play "M" games in my house (although I can at friends houses if my brother's not there). Which system has better options that are rated "E" and "T"?

although there are some solid T and E games, most of the blockbuster hits are M, so i don't know what to tell you.

dunno, i could think of suitable games for both of the HD consoles.

a lot of the movie games we hate around here actualy have some decent platforming sections, and they would easily catch the kid's attention.

Fortunetly they are useualy multiplat, so just go with what _you_ would like to own.

Well I think the PS3 is the better choice but only for 2 games - Uncharted 2 (T) and littlebigplanet (E)

that really does suck though :(

  • online (T-RATED OR UNDER) - Warhawk , Uncharted 2 , Fat Princess , LittleBigPlanet , Motorstorm PR
  • offline (in addition to those T OR UNDER) - Uncharted , Heavenly Sword , inFAMOUS , Ratchet and Clank series

There you go.

Huh, uncharted is rated T, how about that. Anyways on 360 theres the banjo game, viva pinata, kameo, uh...a few high rated arcade games I would Imagine. I don't know about the ps3 games but a few games on 360 like gears2 let you turn off bad language and gore, making them essentially T games.

True. I loved that feature in Gears. It looks a little strange when you chainsaw something and it doesn't fall apart, but then it becomes a family game.

To be honest, your little brother is better off just playing the wii, as there honestly isn't much that is "kid-friendly" to warrant picking one console over the other by comparing the "kid-friendly" games. If I were you, I would look at the M-rated games that you do like and pick the system based on that, because that is going to be the final determininant, in other words, PS3 and XBOX 360 are not kid-friendly at all, not really, so don't even consider their "kid-friendliess." Depends which system you like better and possibly which consoles your friends have so that you can play online with them, my personal bias leans towards the PS3, but the answer might be different for you.

My opinion: PS3 has Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 and 2, Killzone 2, Orange Box, GTA 4, and Metal Gear Solid 4 and that is why I chose it. All of these games are superb.

I've got the PS3 and the Wii and am quite happy with the pairing.

I don't think you can go too wrong either way. Both the PS3 and 360have lots of sports and racing games, PS3 does have quite a few platformers, so that may be the better choice if you can't play FPS at home.

My message got deleted so here it again. Like I said with the box you can get games free.

Note: Some stupid fanboy reported me because I said that and the reason for my suspension was for proving cracks or begging for cracks. makes no sense. I only said that you can get games free which has nothing to do with begging or providing cracks. Now if the forum moderator's brain was only bigger than a pea...sigh...

Anyways the xbox is clearly the winner.

wow actually parents who don't let there 6 year olds play m rated games like most of the world does.

but that does suck for you.

Pretty much any good fps is gone.

honstly neither is kid friendly. most of the great games are m rated.

but of the two i would have to pick the 360. has more games rated teen or below.

But still pretty much all FPS are gone. there are some that are rated teen. but very few are any good

Don't set yourself up man. There's no "far more" between our two HD consoles.

On second thought, maybe I should'nt try and reason with you.

With what you are looking for, the Wii has the best already, but if you want even more, the PS3 has games that can be played online, and free.

Brütal Legends has filters, all Guitar Hero / Rock Band games dont have gore (wow can you belive that ;)), Little Big Planet (PS3), Racing games etc.
Battlefield: Bad Company also doesent have blood, and Uncharted 2 has minimal blood

360, probably. XBLA has a more robust selection of titles, and few are rated M. That and plenty of multiplats to play with.

PS3... I can only think of Valkyria Chronicles and LBP off the top of my head. Exclusives, that is.
