What game do YOU consider to be the BEST game ever? And why?catlin_czirr
Advance Wars
It has this thing that only Super Mario Bros, Tetris, Duck Hunt had in that it is accessible to totally non-gamer and at the same time, I can't name many game with as much depth and lifespan, on any platform... it does the amazing thing of being the best ever Strategy game even though it's not on the PC.

Disgaea
For the same reason mentionedabove about Advance Wars, except the game is just better.
I'm kidding...
I don't really know what my personal best game ever is ATM.
mine is and probably always will be Final Fantay 7 simply because the story was (and still is) so far ahead of any game of it's time!
EDIT: And probably has the most memorable and lovable characters of ANY game ever.
Ocarina of Tme gave me that "WOW" feeling more than any other game. No game even compares.
For gameplay alone, I think SMB3 is the best ever.
Super Punch Out for SNES.Killfoxi was over my cousins house and he had wii points and we bought punch out for the nes its still an amazing game

I used to play it alot about 6 years ago at my friends house because I never bought it. Then I borrowed it for likea month I became insanely good. I even beat piston hurricane somehow in like 11 seconds. Give or take a few but it was some god like number. Then I gave it back and I hadnt played it for awhile. Came over to my friends house and he was playing it. I bet I could still beat on my first try and I did. I was so happy that I was still good even after like a year of not playing it. Rick and nick bruiser are beasts even though I think rick bruiser was easier than nick bruiser.
The perfect turn-based strategy game, with everything that made the Civilization games great and more. Truly the best game ever.
I don't have one true best game ever, I have one on every console I ever owned.
Mega Drive: Sonic 3 & Knuckles
PSone: Final Fantasy VII
PS2: ICO
PC: Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
Gameboy: Pokémon Red
GBA: Golden Sun
DS: Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
My current gen consoles I'm still debating over, but I hold Eternal Sonata on my 360 very highly.
Great story, great characters, great music, deep gameplay, infinite replay value and plays just as good now as it did in 1998.
yeah im going to have to go with this one also when i first played it when it came out it was amazingmine is and probably always will be Final Fantay 7 simply because the story was (and still is) so far ahead of any game of it's time!

When I think of the best game ever candidates 3 games pop into my head immediately.
Mafia
Deus Ex
Final Fantasy VII
There are more evolutionary and revolutionary games out there but in my mind those are my top 3 best ever.
EDIT: Duh! How could I forget Ocarina of Time, Banjo Kazooie, and Starfox 64?!
This:
Just because it mixes new gameplay with the old and it's just an amazing an beautiful experience that i will never forget
Prior to that Alpha Centauri held my top spot, and Civilization II before that. I just love the randomness of it, how every time I start a game it's a world and history unique from all the other times I've played. I love the depth, and the multiple layers, how everything ripple-effects everything else.
I'm really looking forward to Spore, and if it turns out as well as I hope that could be my dream-game.
