I don't really have a good reason. I just see it as the best stratagy game and best game ever made.

introduced a new way to play a 2 player game.

New unique playable characters, a 2 tailed fox named Tails that can fly.

Memorable stages, each with catchy tune.e.g. Casino Nights,

Boss was even bad, han before, new sub bosses e.g. Mecha Sonic, and Robotnick's ultimate creation the Death Egg

Introduced innovatively done 3D special stages

Introduced innovative unlocking achievement for completeing special stages, e.g. Super Sonic

It helped Sega take marketshare away from itsrivalNintendo, in the crucial 16-bit video game battle.

Deus ex 1 on PC. imho it is simply the most perfect game ever made. the only thing that has aged is the graphics. when it comes to everything else....this industry needs to do some serious catching up. great gameplay, fantastic level design, brilliant characters, superb story, wonderful attention to detail and great writing. some games have beaten it on one or 2 fronts...but as the whole package DE1 remains the best game ever made...ever..in the history of gaming. nothing comes close.

i remain waiting for something to beat it. something tells me that im going to be waiting a very very long time.

I absolutely love Donkey Kong Country 2 too and got a few other top games but Super Metroid is the game that will always be that "special" game for me.

Ohhh, thats a tough one... It'd be out of San Andreas, Half Life 2 or Uncharted.

I just love this game, tough as nails, beautiful, great score, and infinitely replayable if your friends can stomach possibly the fastest racing game ever made.

also, the opening screen that shows "Nintendo and Sega" together is enough to make an old gamer tear up in joy.
