Final Fantasy 13 by miles
There is nothing to rival that

In no particular order, with some not very disappointing while others being tragic:
Resident Evil 5: I expected it to follow on from number 4
Tekken 6: Well the series had a good run
Soul Calibur 4: After 2 the series really has gone downhill
Modnation Racers: I thought it was gonna be the answer to Mario Kart on PS3
Gran Turismo 5: Such a massive dissapointment considering before that the series was one of Sonys heavy hitters
Metroid Other M: They gave Samus a voice and a bad one as well.
Bayonetta: All the postive reviews. It's so boring I had to force myself to beat the single player
Marvel vs Capcom 3: Along wait for a pointless game that basically ment nothing 8 months later.
Uncharted 2: I was so excited to get in to this series. I bought the second one early last year in anticipation for the third. This game killed any chance of ever wanting to buy another in the series. I had very little enjoyment with this game and some parts were just plain idiotic and pointless. Gameplay took a backseat to cinematic flashiness and a bad plot.
Assassin's Creed 2: After discovering that Uncharted 2 was pretty much what I hate in gaming, I decided to turn to Assassin's creed to satisfy my hunger for a new franchise to get in to... Unfortunately this game suffered from unpolished and clunky controls as well as over repetitiveness.
I waisted a total of $60 because of these two games. It's really hard to figure out what's for you especially when you're a gamer like me that focuses on gameplay over everything else. This generation and its fans seem more fond of games with lackluster gameplay but good presentation, story, or setting. To these people, when a game looks flashy and nice it brainwashes them into thinking the gameplay is perfect as well
Final Fantasy XIII by far.

Oh yeah, this.
This may sound crazy but i've never played a Final Fantasy game before and i was hoping this one could get up to date and see what all the fuss is about, so that way i could feel compelled into trying the older ones.
it didn't. in fact, it did the opposite.
LA Noire. I hyped since like 2008 or 2007. I even pre-ordered it. When I got it and played it I was like: "Wow, really?'' then sold it.
ODST was fun for me but incredibly short and boring. So glad I only paid $30 for it. Oblivion was just an incredibly boring world I never wanted to explore unlike MW & Skyrim. And Conviction was such a deparure from the stealth aspect of Splinter Cell that I never finished it. And why do you hate Gears of War? Is it because it isn't on PS3? Because the damn game is amazing and that is incredibly childish. Top notch TPS.[QUOTE="Plagueless"][QUOTE="PinnacleGamingP"] april fooled. but, i do agree with most of the beggining partBattlefieldFan1
Gears of War was ok.
Gears of war 2 sucked.
Gears of war 3 was incredibly stupid, vapid and gay I don't know how anyone over the age of 12 could like this game, because the plot, dialogues and charaacter development of the game were so damn poorly executed and childish. See, back in the day, every kid and his mom thought that pokemon was awesome and that pokemon the first movie was the best thing ever since sliced bread. I dare you to go watch that movie again and say that the movie was good. Considering you are an xbot, it's possible, but any honest person would say that the plot and dialogues were so f*cking corny and embarassing to hear.
Grow up and make sure your testicles drop. You'll then understand what a retarded series the gears franchise is.
Dude if you were Playing gears of war for its plot then you have been playing the wrong game.My list:
Fable 2
Fable 3 (even though my expectations were low as dirt)
Mercenaries 2
Timeshift
Dragon Age 2
Gran Turismo 5. Such crushing disappointment. How could such a legendary perfect franchise thought it would be a good idea to be simply go standard? Yamauchi-san, you broke me heart. I still feel it will rise like a Phoenix but still, the damage is done.
Nah, Pinnacle and Battlefield are defintely different, Pinnacle just uses all caps laughs and makes no arguments while Battlefield makes crap arguments and gets pissy like a b*tch when he gets stuff thrown back at him. Battlefield also loves insulting people over what console they choose or what they do with their money. I have no Idea how he isnt banned yet.[QUOTE="Plagueless"][QUOTE="IAmNot_fun"] I was under the impression battlefieldfan = pinnacle = bullrayBattlefieldFan1
Crap arguments? Like how I explained why I thought Gears 3 was stupid and childish?
F*cking 2nd class gamers who think they have the right to think... LOL
 hahaha of god your attitude is hilarious. Seriously your one of the funniest trolls I have seen.Civ 4 isn't that good in the first place so why would you hype it up anyway?Sid Meier's Civilizaiton 5
Combat was improved. But everything else was a huge step back. I hyped it up to the high heavens, and tried to love it. But no success.

I had a few. GTA 4, could never get into it at all, tried a few times. So disapointed cause San Andreas one of my favorite games ever. Banjo Nuts & Bolts was not the sequel anyone wanted or cared for. I know there's more, I'll probably see them when I browse the thread (I hardly ever read the responses before posting).
Gears of War 2. Payed 70 euros for that game, I usually buy online for around 35. New. But I was so excited with my new Xbaws I just had to instabuy a new release. Game was decent fun coop campaign. Everything else was mind shockingly horrible. How the Gears franchise ever had popular MP is beyond my gaming understanding... Consolites...
Either Dragon Age II or the Uncharted series in general.
It was sad to watch two very good developers spiral down the drain.
Beginning of generation: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption ~ I was expecting something along the lines of Prime and Echoes combined together into a super-Metroid-Prime. And for the first two thirds of the game, it was that. Then about 3/4's of the way through the Pirate Homeworld, it turned into Halo and slipped down a steady slope to the massively disappointing end and disgustingly simple Dark Samus fight with an equally dumb and easy end boss... betraying everything the series had been up to that point in terms of boss design and boss difficulty. It was still a very well-made game, but cripplingly disappointing, and soured my opinion of Nintendo for about three years. Bioshock ~ I was the conductor of the stupidly over-zealous hype train for this game and I paid the price. Had I not been expecting the greatest game of all time, and had Ken Levine not raised expectations so high, I probably would have enjoyed it thoroughly. I feel that after almost 5 years, it might be time to finally give the game another chance, but we'll see. Recent: Red Dead Redemption ~ Had it been just the extremely atmospheric world without the story and missions, I probably would have named it one of the best of the generation... but the contrived reasons to push the story past the first area just drove me insane, and I am surprised I ever finished it. Again, a well-made game, but should have been about five hours long, and organized the story progression better. I had no reason to become attached to Marston and his plight. Mass Effect 2 ~ This game is the single-most confusing game I have encountered this generation. Do I like it? Do I hate it? I have no clue. The gameplay is spectacular, but the story (if it could be called that) is absolute sh!t. The only thing holding the game together is a bunch of recruitment missions. And the ending... f*cking christ is it dumb. Totally ruined the impending doom of the Reapers and all the build up in the first game. Planned trilogies can go f*ck themselves... and so can EA. That said, Lair of the Shadow Broker was outstanding and the rest of the game should have followed it's writing and tone exactly. And they should have just kept the original crew from the first game (especially considering they return in the third game, what the f*ck was the point in introducing all those new characters besides romances?). In all honesty... fan fiction should just stay the flying-f*ck away from games.foxhound_fox
Am I the only one who thinks Bioshock is the best game this gen?

Try this instead
Halo: Reach, Halo: ODST, Fable 3
Preordered Reach and everything, then when I played it, it was like a slap to the face. Fable 3 just plain sucked hard. I am NOT buying the next Fable.
