But I think the Bertrand score from inFamous 2 might have just tied, or beat, especially at the 2:00 mark when the strings/horns kick in . Epic!

There are tons but I have to say that the Ace Combat series has always had the best music. Halo is close and Final Fantasy is excellent. However there are so many good ones. Shadow of the Colossus, Zelda, Battlefield... so good.

the aces fights from Zero always spring to mind :P aswell as a lot of AC5 mind you 04 has its moments aswell especially love the one for Comona :P

While my favorite soundtrack would have to be Metroid Prime's, I'd rather give props to my second favorite; Total Annihilation by Jeremy Soule.

Here's a sample, and a great review:

The performance of the music is brilliant. The 96 piece Northwest Sinfonia really bring out all the appropriate phrasing and character of the music and give a very dynamic performance. The choir gives some tracks an extra subtle layer of atmosphere, which works really well, especially in some of the peace tracks such as "Charred Dreams" and "Desolation".

The peace tracks feature very slow, moody, tension building music, and also give a good depiction of a war torn desolate wasteland. Again, there's a good variety in these tracks too, from shimmering strings in "Death and Decay" to sombre solos from the cello in "Licking Wounds", from the cor anglais in "Where am I?" to a low droning bass in "Futile Attempt". "Stealth" is very clever, as underneath the tuned instruments there are some percussion lines that almost sound like they could be electronic (in a good way). On their own, as stand-alone tracks the peace tracks aren't quite as interesting to listen to as the battle tracks as they're more about atmosphere but they're still well worth a listen.Excerpt

I could never pick just one. Some of my favorites would be: Mass Effect 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Chrono Trigger, Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid (the whole franchise), FFVI, Dragon Age: Origins, Donkey Kong Country, Banjo Kazooie and Super Mario 64. I love all of those soundtracks immensely.
