[QUOTE="funsohng"][QUOTE="Doolz2024"]As I recall, RDR had problems with unresponsive/clunky controls as well. Some people, for whatever reason, only hate on GTA IV though and act like RDR is flawless in this area, when it isn't. Both games have their control issues.

That said, GTA IV's controls aren't nearly as bad as you're claiming. In fact, they're not really that bad at all.

Doolz2024

It was more of response problem, rather than the actual layout. GTAIV, Niko felt a lot heavier than he should be, going in and out of cover was pain in the ass, running around wasn't really that tight as it should be, the lock-on was way too sticky, etc. GTAIV's controls were IMO not polished. RDR's was.

I'll agree with you on the cover system. It worked better in RDR.

I never used auto aim in either game so I can't speak for that.

lol Its fight for RDR

Definitely Saints Row 2 for me, closely followed by Red Dead Redemption. I also had a lot of fun with Red Faction Guerrilla though to be fair.

Most disappointing would have to be GTA IV.

it sickens me alotta people are chosing saints row 2, its not realism, its like last gens gta, it disgusts me people enjoy games like that. GTAIV took last gen game play and made it more realistic. More games should do that, fun disgusts me.

Just cause 2, no doubt, as far as pure messing around goes. And for things like combat and secrets i'd say ACII or Brotherhood.

Sarcasm? Because I find the more realistic games tend to be, the more boring.

Crackdown, Red Faction Guerilla, Minecraft, STALKER / CoP off the top of my head.

Without a doubt some of the most out some of the most outstanding open world games this gen, that actually move the type of game design forward than 'elaborate mission hub' and 'pretty themepark'.

edit*

Dead Rising does deserve a nod, I wish more developers would take a risk like Capcom did with it - especially the time based missions which actually added gravity to the scenario and how you try to complete the game.

Since when did realism make a better game? If that was the case ArmA 2 would be trouncing all of these.

Red Dead Redemption. Yeh, the missions are nothing more than shooting galleries for the most part, but the Coop is pretty fun with friends, and it's cool to just ride around and enjoy the visuals. I love the lighting and atmosphere, it's incredibly natural.

World of Warcraft, I don't think I'd ever unsubscribe no matter how bored of the game I am. I'm too attached to the lore and the stories of my own characters. (It is a Role Playing Game after all.)

I'm not too big on MMOs, I find most of them really boring. I'm not sure what it is about WoW, but it's the best damn MMO I've ever played, no other MMO can compare.

Oblivion, just because quests seem more unique and not as cookie cutter as some other open world games, Fallout 3 was good too. I also think the Dead Rising games are really fun. I like Red Dead Redemption because the action but it feels like a step down from Red Dead Revolver in some respects, I miss the boss battles of the first game and nothing in Redemption comes close. Haven't tried Just Cause 2 but want to if I can get my hands on a $20 new copy that's not gutted.

I'd have to say Assassin's Creed 2. Was such a huge improvement over the original. I had a lot of fun with that game, and it never got stale.

fallout 3. i could wildly rant on and on about all sorts of other things about it, but its a great open world game. theres a wonderful sense of nihilism to the capital wasteland that adds to the freedom. however, what i really like are the characters. theres the painfully chipper moira brown (whose jarring juxtaposition gets even better when you blow up a certain town), the brilliant orations of president eden, a certain narcissistic dave, and many others. its one of the few open world games where im just as interested in meeting new characters as i am in finding new locations.

i knew RDR would be most voted, you know you people are really something. Im sickened and disgusted that such glory goes to this boring ass game. You like it cause of the story and athmosphere but gameplay is almost as boring as LA noire. Yet gta4 gets hate even though it had much more fun missions then the two others combined. Seriously ur farming half the time in RDR mandatorily to progress and your picking up crap and staring at it half the time in noire. that being said, you know what my vote is, INfamous 2, mostly because of the powers to be honest, and ugc extends the life of the game. deadlyabdus123
You're 'sickened' by it? Man, you got some serious issues. Anyways, my favorite is RDR or inFLOPMOUS 2.

Probably RDR or inFamous. Assassin's Creed was pretty awesome but it ended up getting incredibly repetitive and tedious.
