I can see clearly that the RTS genre is not really discussed in system wars, but which is your favourite?

Mine is either Dawn of War-Dark Crusade :

My most favourite RTS of all time is Age of Empires II. StarCraft was great, but I got the most play time and fun out of AOEII.

I'm starting to like Rome: Total - War though. It won't ever surpass AOEII though.

lol Relic are amazing with Dawn of war series (even though DOW2 wasnt as good as DOW1), Company of heroes, Homeworld. They are amazing RTS developers. I wonder how they will do with WH40K space marine. I hope it ends up being a great game.

I really enjoyed DOW 2's campaign mode, and did not enjoy skirmish at all. The ending part really fooled me in the campaign. Also, WH40K space marine?? What's that?

Space marine is a new game being developed by Relic which is going to be a third person action RPG/shooter hybrid for PS3 and xbox 360.

I play every RTSI can get my hands on but I keep going back to WCIII. I think its because the online community offers more of a challenge.

Halo Wars is a wee bit underrated by the community.

But Starcraft is the best RTS ever made. And SC2 will be even better due to the fact you can turn it into other genres (Third Person Shooter, RPG) using the galaxy editor.

Thats a hard one, the RTS genre just has so many different types.

Supreme Commander is very different to Company of Heroes which is very different to Sins of a Solar Empire which is very different to Total War. I love them all for there own reasons.

I'm replaying Dawn of War 2 atm, and thats another fine example of something very different to the rest.

Overall though, the original Red Alert! its a classic and the reaosn i love RTS games as much as i do :)

There's too many to choose from, but if I had to choose a top 5 it would be (in no particular order) :

I'm also playing Medieval 2 Total War at the moment, and I can't decide whether I love it or hate it.

WARCRAFT 3 was the most enjoyed game by me.

IT was sooo fun, (and im talkign about both story and BAttlenet). I would pay 80 - 100$ for another warcraft (4)>

Played it, but it was too "realistic" in my view. I prefer a good old unrealistic RTS game, with a different type of story (which is why i like Dawn of War, Halo Wars, and am impressed with the Warcraft series).

P.S: To all Posters- How is the online play on RTS games?? Is it a worthwhile experience?? Or are other games (Shooters/Racers) better for online??
