Before playing MGS4 I would have said things like many other have said in this thread, but after completing that masterpiece of a game nothing even compares at all now. Though walking down the wall of the citadel core behind the gargantuan reaper in Mass Effect wasn't bad either :P

you should add CoDJon to your sig, he got banned too I'm not to familiar with him. Was he an epic fanboy? But yeah, back on topic. looking back, as much as I used to harsh on it, SoTC in it's entirety was Breath Taking. In Medieval 2: Total War; my tiny army of 241 soldiers versus over 3000 Turks. It was an epic battle in which I won; probably because I was defending a citadel but that's besides the point. The french own. :)

It was such a sad moment seeing being destroyed by the sathanas
When I saw that, I felt so...doomed. The greatest that humanity had to offer was destroyed with ease by one ship out of many. The sense of doom was so strong that it was oppressive.
the power of the FreeSpace series was over 9,000. when the flight sim genre makes its comeback, I hope FreeSpace 3, X-Wing 2, and Tie Fighter 2 lead the way.In Medieval 2: Total War; my tiny army of 241 soldiers versus over 3000 Turks. I remember a similar scenario in Medieval 1 for me. Had 73 byzantine infantry vs the main Mongol army of some 1500 men. (7 true heroes survived)
I won, their king was killed and their faction was vanquished.
Darn I was lucky their ballistas ran out of ammo lol.
The most breathtaking moment, for me, was my first sighting of the GTVA Colossus in Freespace 2.
The thing is just so massive, and fills you with a feeling of safety, as though it is an aegis for humanity, protecting it against all that stands to destroy us...

Gotta say I found the encounters with the SJ Satanas more thrilling, those ships are monsters, smaller but awesome. The point where a satanas destroyed the damaged Collossus was simply epic, I still cry for that ships destruction at night!.
playing halo 1 after getting off the life boat and looking up at the sky
and playing ninja gaiden (xbox) for the first time
The Embassy battle in GRAW
Most of Mass Effect
Attacking the SSD Executor in X-wing: Alliance
The armored train level of Medal of Honor: Frontline
The Volga-crossing sequence on your way to Stalingrad in Call of Duty
The Sink the Musashi level in Heroes of the Pacific
...That's all I have for now

I remember Attacking the executor in X-wing Alliance, was awesome. Pity I never completed the game, was always too annoyed when going through deathstar, took soooo long time.. Never had the patience too get back out.

that Metal Gear Solid 4 part would have been amazing if it didn't ruin my "triangle button"when i first played half life 2 :o so many great moments
but the most recent one was when i was playing mgs4 and you had to crawl through the microwave thing and the fight at the end....that game was amazing

GAWD, I can't believe how drawn out that was. I don't remember the Rebel ships flying into giant caverns (aside from the reactor one of course) or the Death Star II's laser tunnel either...and trying to escape was even worse. When you first see the tower and what the world has become in HL2
The ending of FF8. I'm not sure what happened, but it was touching nonetheless. I was majorly crushing on Faye Wong before the game anyway, which helped.
When Tidus pulls the tackle in bltizball in the opening cinematic of FFX. Mostly because I was freakishly excited for this game, and I kind of liked his "Im a star player" attitude, at first anyway...
When Snake solutes a certain grave in MGS3
Edit: Oh yes
*SPOILERS for ODIN SPHERE*
When you take out velvet's brother w/ mercedes. That's pretty sad. Not the correct way to go though.
