*spoilers*RyanJ71

This is how you do a spoiler tag: put [ spoiler ] (without the spaces) in front of the spoiler. Put [ /spoiler ] after the spoiler. Preview your post to make sure it works, then hit submit.

Example:
Rosebud was his sled :o
Mine's was the end of MGS3. I actually shed a few tears. The ending was truly moving and heart breaking. Knowing the reason why The Boss let Snake kill her was so emotional.

KOTOR #1 When Bastilla comes back as a Dark Jedi. When I played light side this surprised me and I was kinda like, "noooooooooooooo". The second was when I played dark side and near the end of your game, Mission is like, "I can't side with you on this." and you had to kill her. I never had her in my party, but I liked her alot as a character. I really didn't want to have to kill her and I was dead on the inside for the rest of the game.

For me its the moment in FFVII where Nanaki learns the truth about his father Seto. Such a well done scene with beautiful music. I'm man enough to admit I shed a tear :P

wow im suprised no one has mentioned it, but I would have to say "Silent Hill 2". the whole time looking for his wife through Silent Hill from a note that was from his died wife years ago. You just feel for the guy, wondering, hoping that he'll find her through this hell hole that hes going through.

*SPOILER*

Then you find out he put her down..... :? It's like wtf!? That sux.... What really touched me and (almost) made me.. cry... was her letter.

::::damn I'm already tearing up just remembering her voice and words again...::::

it may not be my favorite RPG this gen...but in Lost odyssey when...
You meet Kaim's daughter face to face only to see her die. I shed a manly tear.
I was kinda pissed that the rest of the game didn't seem as emotionally driven as this particular scene.

Seeing as how people mention MGS3 and HL Episode 2, I would say STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. The reason? Its multiple endings. Some of them are just downright horrifying. For example:
When you approach the wish granter, when Strelok asks for the Zone to disappear. While the Zone does indeed disappear, he opens his eyes to see that he's completely blind. Another is when he says that humanity must be controlled. When the wish is granted you see that he's in complete darkness. Stuck into a dark abyss for eternity.
For me, it was just something that stays with me, and still gives me chills just thinking about it.

After going through every response, I am 100% positive most have not played The Darkness. Nothing really comes close. Nothing at all, EXCEPT maybe the part in Quake 4 when you become Strogg (or the beginning, because that dead Marine looks eerily like myself), and COD4's nuke. But in The Darkness, the end of Chapter 1 was infuriating in a way that I would be infuriated if that something happened to my wife. It was then my mission to kill Uncle Paulie in the most horrible fashion I could think of, and yes...yes I did.

For those that have not played The Darkness, nor intend to play it...

Halo's Flood.

My surround sound was up, my room was dark, there was no one home. I had no idea what to expect, I practically never play any horror games ... I must say, I was quite afraid of the Flood when they were introduced in Halo 1. It was an epic video game moment.

Too bad the effect has been lost, and they're more or less just annoying now.

I cried a lot at the end of MGS3 and I cried at the end of MGS4. MGS4 is just epic. MGS3 is just so patriotic. I cant choose one.
Not my most emotional moment but Killzone 2 had its moments
Garza, Temp, and Visari especially Garza
I didn't cry, but you could feel the emotions if that makes any sense

Ya, the beginning of the cruiser was a bit sad. The characters arent that forgettable theres just not enough back story to love them more.

MGS3's ending was awesome. totally unexpected twist and very emotional. That and the ending of ACt 4 in MGS4 with raiden. And the last act from the microwave scene and onwards was just thrilling. By the time i turned off my console, i was just like "woah, such epicness"

Right now, just two...

One in MGS and the other in MGS3 ending
Sniper wolf's death in MGS http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wriaT32v2T0 And in MGS3 ending... from the moment that Big Boss enters the room and refuse to extend his hand... to the famous salute at the boss's grave. The most touching scene in a game to date
1. Metal Gear Solid 4. I think the whole game had an emotional feel to it, that was hard to grasp. Seeing Snake old, and hearing his grainy voice made an impact on me. It sounded like his end was coming to a near, a sense of desperation in his character. The music captured it all.

2. Seeing Dom find his wife in Gears of War 2. Seeing Marcus, put his hand on Dom's shoulder, and saying "Dom. It's okay" It was just weird seeing the emotion, between these rather bulky, and often visceral guys.

3. Otacon, and Emma's death in MGS2. Seeing Otacon breaking down, and seeing his sister die was pretty emotional.

I could probably think of some more, but those are some that comes into mind.

I loved the endings of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Shadow of the Colossus, and I cried during Kingdom Hearts 1's ending. I must say, however, the moment that touched me the most was when you explore the destroyed Haven City(especially the slums) in Jak 3. All of the nostalgia of Jak 2 just came rushing back.

Metal Gear Solid 4 ending. Epic! I cheered, I cried, I was upset at some points and over-joyed at others. Thats what a good ending is. Take notes developers! Killzone 2 aswell. Spoilers- . . . I sorta "yelped" when Radec shot Garza. I really didnt think he'd be shot, or atleast not in that scene. I was also shocked when Templar was shot and went down with the ship. That just pissed me off, haha. Such a great character gone like that x( Also, I was really pissed when Rico shot Visari. He shot him just when the speech was getting good!! I used to think Rico was awesome. A take-no-BS soldier who got the job done in any way. Hell, I thought the soldier that Rico K/O'ed deserved what happened but when he shot Visari... Gah, jerk. . . . . . . End Spoilers.
