Every new generation comes with it a general plateau of waiting for the games taking advantage of the new hardware. I expect the launch of PS5 and XSeX will be similar. That generally doesn't stop the excitement of a new gen.
Being a buyer of new hardware has its positives and negatives. Negatives generally being that the hardware hasn't been out long enough to have been truly tested for durability, the lack of engaging games that are next specific and potentially the loss of enjoyed features that may be added later.
As for me, I've bought many systems at launch and most remain working to this day. I'm looking to get the PS5 but I'm not too worried about Playstation hardware failing. I'm more worried about most games being cross gen and there not being a big reason to own next gen for some time.
We know a bit as to what XSeX will give us. A form factor and a couple games. We have hear say for PS5 but that's basically it. No prices, no launch dates, no launch lineups. It makes it difficult to make a call on buying at launch.
My current plan is the wait and see approach but I've already started saving for the PS5. No guarantee I'll be buying at launch but I like to be prepared.
