Dance Central is the best dancing game of the gen. In the vein of Rockband or Guitar Hero. I expect DC2 to be the even better. Probably buy it for the family when Christmas comes around.
Haven't been following Sesame Street - not interested in the game at all.
And you felt the need to create a thread like this because...?
In any case, I have no response to Dance Central 2 or Sesame Street. I don't plan on getting either, and while I'm sure I'd have fun playing DC 2 on a friend's console, it's not the type of game that appeals to me purchasing it. Now, why should I have a "response" concerning it? TC, do you plan to play the game? Than why should you have any say regarding those two titles? I'm sure several people will enjoy both games, since they might cater to their tastes. Who am I to say they have a flawed preference for games?
Good for families and good for people that like dance central....why are your pissed about games being released you have no interest in?
....I want to play the Sesame Street game because of my interest towards the team that developed the title, and also I gotta admit it looks kind of fun lol. It's probably the only Kinect title I have any interest in.
You probably wouldn't be saying that if they were PS3 exclusivesMy response is this

Actually, he'd be praising Sony for trying to appeal to all demographics.
But hey, final's the lovable kind of fanboy so it's all good.
I personally have no interest in them, but I'll probably use them for cow ownage if they score high enough.

I, for one, would certainly pan them if they were PS3 exclusives. on the flip side, I guarantee there wouldnt be any these apologists for these games if they were PS3 exclusives.

lol yes there would be final would be one of them. you likely would as well. you contridict your self quite alot in the same sentence by omission your supporting the concept that finalstar wouldn't say that if they were ps3 exclusives you would guarantee there wouldn't be any apologists of they were ps3 exclusives a direct contridiction...Lol. Something along the lines of Sesame Street>Infamous 2? Lol. Oh man, could you imagine if this happened....Sesame Street>Uncharted 3?!? System wars would explode.I personally have no interest in them, but I'll probably use them for cow ownage if they score high enough.

My response? Looks like a great game for children, but not really a game for the denizens of SW.Arach666
im calling BS on the idea that games like "sesame street" are fine because they pander to their "little kid" audience. movies like smurfs and judie moody appeal well to their kid audiences. does it make them good movies? no.
stuff like this talks down to kids. when I was a kid, i didnt play crap like this. i would make fun of this stuff when I was 5 years old. at that time I was playing contra, ninja gaiden, and super star wars. kids can handle real games.

It all depends on what kind of parents you have,I´m sure many don´t want their little kids playing games that are not appropriate for their age,it´s not a matter if they can´t handle them or not.Personally, when I was a little kid I really liked the show, and I would be trilled to have a game like this to play at that time. Not everyone feels like you do mate, and I´m not even trying to defend this game because I don´t give two s**** about it,but it is what it is.

Good for you. Want a cookie?
Seriously, to each his own. If a kid likes watching Sesame Street on television they'll probably enjoy a Sesame Street video game. It's not rocket science.
Do you know why you played mature games when you were a kid? Chances are it's because that's all there was back then. You either played those games or you didn't play video games at all. Nowadays kids actually have games made just for them. Problem?
Oh and pro-tip, refrain from using the terms "real game" or "real gamer". People don't take too well to that type of elitism.

if not acknowledging things like sesame street and dance central as even somewhat respectable games, makes me an elitist, than that is a title I will proudly hold. i refuse to give lip service to casual, shovelware schlock.

Just because it's Sesame Street, it's shovelware? I will obviously never play this but the game looks like it's a quality title and well designed.
The Smurfs may not be a good movie but what about all the Pixar flicks that are generally targeted at kids?
You're going to tell em they're not well made because of the catered audience? This is exactly like that.

Shovelware doesn't get AA scores. Is there some sort of conspiracy the rest of us are unaware of behind these games reviewing well? If so do tell. Keep in mind there are plenty of Kinect games which have gotten very poor reviews.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ShovelwareLast time I checked, games with good scores aren't shovelware...

The funny thing is that the Singstar series has sold more games than all 3 Resistance titles, both Uncharted titles combined so I wonder what Sony would prefer, another 3 resistance titles or another 3 Singstar titles! How isSesame Street a "fake" game and Contra a "real" game then? I personally have no interest in Sesame Street as like the Smurfs movie its not targeted at my demographic, but I am not childish enough to go into a rage about them!As for Dance Central, I have the first one and its great for a Party and we had a blast last New Years Eve on it, along with Rock Band and just actually enjoyed ourselves, so well done to the companies that produced those games.
The Smurfs is made by Sony Pictures and they "Sony" would never do this to there customers and give them "shovelware"

You realise this is being made by Tim Schafer and Double Fine Productions, of Grim Fandango and Psychonauts fame, right? You know, up with Edward McMillan/Team Meat and Media Molecule as some of the most creative minds in the industry. I have no personal interest it, but if that's not enough to take it far and beyond shovelware status, I don't know what is. It doesn't personally surprise me that this is scoring well, with that in mind.Look, there's nothing wrong with Once Upon a Monster of Dance Central 2. I personally wish OUaM was on PS3, so I could play it with my 2 year old (which is the game'starget audience: preschoolers and their parents). And whileI'm not so big on dance games, plenty of people like them. Make fun of 360 for only getting 1-2 exclusives a year that aren't kinect games, fine. Make fun of kinect for mostly getting shovelware, fine. But making fun of what looks like a great game, by a great developer, just because its made for a different audience is kinda sad... and just serves to make PS3 fans look bad.
You can't even guarantee that. I'd defend Dance Central regardless of platform. It's just a fun game - more fun than many core titles I've played this gen. The entire Gears series, SF4, Farcry 2, the Witcher, Portal, Assasin's Creed, etc. I easily enjoy Dance Central more. Just because you're biased, don't asume everyone else is unable to objectively like a game.I, for one, would certainly pan them if they were PS3 exclusives. on the flip side, I guarantee there wouldnt be any these apologists for these games if they were PS3 exclusives.

I'd love to play Sesame Street for three reasons. One, it's made by Schafer and crew. Two, it's Sesame Street. I grew up watching the show. Three, the game has received extremely positive responses.
It's good to relive childhood memories :)
Don't care. I wish those resources were used to make a game that I want to play on 360. I'm happy for those who will buy and enjoy them though =].

Four, you can be the COOKIE MONSTER!!!
Good thing Sesame Street is not geared towards the people that frequent System Wars huh? It will sell good, especially around the holidays, and after all that's what MS wants to do sell games.
Dance Central looks pretty good. The kids still play the original at our house pretty much every weekend so I would expect the 2nd one to have the same kind of lasting effect. Not bad for a $50 game.
