Your thoughts on Halo Reach's Graphics? Overall as a game?

so to continue my series of "Your thoughts on ..... Graphics?" i did gears 2, halo 3 so why not reach, I love them the art design the back drops, explosions facial animations, the Texures :P i would say it has some of the best Graphics for the 360 and FPS's THroughout the 360,ps3, Wii (Had to :P) so what do you like dislike about them, i dislike that Kats ass it to Distracting :P and to amp it up whats your thought as a overall game, Me BEST FPS I HAVE EVER PLAYED!!! Epic story epic gameplay, great characters, Just to note ive read all the other canon so i know th ebackstories of most of the games characters Thats why i love the story.

Bright and colorful, litup. Not generic and muted.

From what I've seen, awesome. It has an incredible art direction and for the most part, the tech holds up nicely as well.

Without playign them side by side, I can barely tell the difference between 3 and Reach

That being said, Reach has a lot going for it when you actually look at it. Incredible character models, along with great gun models. Terrific lighting(Unmatched on consoles) large scale and tons of enemies on screen

I dislike the art style though, everything looks to clean. Games like Killzone look great, but what makes them look top tier is the art style. Killzone exaggerated lighting and musky atmosphere go along way to making it look as good as it does.

They're alright. I personally think the game's graphics are overated (IGN gave the graphics a 9.5, meanwhile a game like Castlevania: Lords of Shadows got an 8.5 in graphics, even though it looked muched better).

Reach is the only console game this gen that genuinely stunned me with it's graphics. Beautiful game, with a kickass campaign.

Reach looks mighty fine for a console game. If only the framerate could keep up with dem' fine graphics.Stevo_the_gamer

yeah, kind of a shame.

but I was surprised how the framerates managed in Firefight. **** ton of explosians/AI on screen and it still ate through it all:o

I almost wonder if the campaign just didn't get enough polish. had some messed up checkpoints too, ah well, too little too late.

Reach is the only console game this gen that genuinely stunned me with it's graphics. Beautiful game, with a kickass campaign.

i dont havea 360 yet i am going to get one soon tho but it doesnt look that impressivegraphics wisefrom gameplay vids i have seen but looks fun

It looked very purty IMO.

I thought the graphics were great. Not perfect but overall about as good as Gears 2 I'd say.

As far as the game goes, I was really underwhelmed by the campaign, but the multiplayer is naturally very fun.

Both the graphics and art design were put together very well. Just hope that the new company taking over the Halo franchise is able to put as much work into their games as Bungie.

Draw distances are excellent, the environments really come to life thanks to that. Guns have a great amount of detail to them too, but character models (spartans+grunts primarily) haven't received much of an upgrade and are sub-par to games like Killzone 2, Crysis, and CoD. All in all, I give the graphics a B+, they make occasional contributions to the game's overall atmosphere and only occasionally detract.

Anyways, Reach is in the Top 5 for console FPS's .

good more more :P also just to point out kill an elite and zoom into them the Detail is :O

if it wasn't for the temporal AA they used causing the ghosting effect I thin it would easily be the best looking game on consoles, textures are great but i think its the AF level is kind of short so they don't retain the detail if stepped back a little

It's apparent the Bungie understands that graphics are more than poly count or hi res textures. Reach is visually engaging and functional at the same time. From the architecture of the farm houses to the foliage and the disparate colors/structural themes of Covenant fortifications, Bungie gives the players a variety of things to keep it interesting as well as visual cues to help distinguish one place on the map from another.

Just look at the skyboxes of Long Night of Solace with the space battles. In space, a field of stars used to suffice, but not in Reach. The colors of the galaxies and space gases near the planet was not only beautiful, but in a flying game, it was critical so we could subconsiously set an artificial horizon. Kept me from becoming disoriented if I pointed away from the planet and into space. Having played all manner of space combat games, it was very clear the Bungie recognized this as well.

I appreciate that attention to detail.

It only adds to the one of the best packages available on the consoles and, dare I say, even the PC.

For a 2007 game it is pretty outstanding. The colours and everything looked great.

Terrible jaggies and terrible pop in. The game is nice a colorful though and the open areas add alot to the game. The models in the game are very nicely detailed and animation is top notch as always, but those jaggies....
