Valkyria Chronicles, without a doubt. One superb, original, beautiful, compelling game. Everything it does, it does brilliantly. The art direction, well fleshed out world and characters, innovative battle system and inventive level design show boundless imagination. Honourable mentions are Uncharted, Bioshock, Dead Space, The Darkness and Mirror's Edge.

Why no PC? STALKER makes most of what I've played this gen seem overly commercialised and shallow. If its strictly consoles then Mass Effect.
